I think much of the problem, at least relating to Dick, is how much of a role sections of his community have in his content. Guys get mad when they don't get the same attention other fans do, or when they do get the attention and it eventually dries up. By all means Dick handles a lot of this shit very poorly, but a lot of guys want to use TDS as a launchpad for their own e-celeb careers, and when the golden ticket doesn't show up they get real fucking angry about it.

I think the issue is the direct, public call out of @George Cuckzunian specifically by null. It seemed out of character, and even if there is an alterior motive, the content and information cuckzunian has provided has greatly improved the thread. As it stands, it seems more like a-logging than a gay op.

Given the context, the call out did feel forced. I want to believe null is a sweet boy fed up with what he perceives as astroturfing, but it also derailed a hilarious thread and looked like running damage control for dick due to the timing and current 'controversy.'

Crippled Jesus is probably one of the worst examples of it because he somehow manages to be the least interesting call in despite having the most unique living situation.

Aside from the one and a half success stories, it seems as though nearly every fan Dick gives attention to comes out with a terrible podcast within a week. David Clegg, Maxwell Kimball, Cantillions and Kiwi Chris, that antoids guy who did some audio cuts on the rereleased episodes tried launching a video game youtube with a day 1 patreon that went nowhere, Hazencruz, Cameron Clarke.

The list goes on and on and on and on. Almost none of them have done anything noteworthy and aside from Dick's annoying political punditry, they've always been the weakest part of the show.
