I'm pretty sure Nick is an actual Christian, just on a surface level as much as your average Joe who's slightly religious. Nick isn't some grifting Atheist who's only pretending to be Catholic to trick people or whatever. However he isn't as fundamentalist as he makes himself out to be. He was raised from a Spainard family(hence his last name Fuentes) so he probably has the basics covered, but it's not like he actually lives the Trad life he promotes so much.

Like said earlier, there was that time when he ate a turkey sandwich on a Friday when you're not supposed to eat any meat that day and he got really defensive over it. Same for that time when he got into a debate over something in the Bible and he just couldn't accept not knowing about it and tried to claim 'Well, its not my job, I'm not a Priest' or something, I think @Leominster knows that part better than me. Alongside him blocking people frequently because he's afraid of being challenged by anyone who doesn't want to suck up to him. Nick definitely lacks the humility that a good Christian should have.

He just pretends to be a Catholic fundamentalist because it makes him look more righteous (and thus cooler) when in reality he's as mundane in practicing it as any other American. He only brings up how much of a based Catholic he is when its convenient so he can look better compared to the neocons or wignats he makes fun of. His zoomer and millennial fans eat it all up since a lot of them were formerly raised on Reddit Atheism when they were LibRights years ago, before they later on they realized it looked cringy. So they go to the extreme opposite end and LARP about being devout Catholics with all their knowledge coming from their favorite e-celebs and internet cliques.

In fact the whole TradCath trend that's been mostly led by Nick really reminds me of Reddit Athiesm in its early days back in 2011 or so when people like TheAmazingAthiest were 'leaders' of it, what with all the pretentiousnes, e-celeb worship, and the treating it like its a cool kids club. "Yeah my family are cringe Protestants but I'm Catholic and I'm such a rebel!"

Some of them are split between not liking the Pope because he isn't based enough and others liking him only begrudgingly. Good amount of them are Sedevacantists and claim that they're better than mainstream Catholics. Some have the lulzy idea of wanting to have a Papacy based in America.
