Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

Welcome to the farms nasser. You'll probably get a message from a mod to get your account verified as the actual nasser, so what brought you to this wonderful site?
Saw someone slandering me saying I tried to cheat Donal out of money, and saw a few people asking what happened to me, so I just made an account to address it.

That's fair; the right to reply to your critics is important. But while you're here Nasser, would you care to give your take on the ongoing JDA-Warcampaign reconciliation arc? Do you have any good Micah stories?

Thanks. Itll be relaunched again when Jason is done drawing it.

How can you, a college student can deliver faster than former pros in the industry or people with who got their books more than funded? You are the living standard that cg preaches yet you releases like 5 books in the past 2 years when people have trouble doing 1?

People are either doing the work or they arent. If books arent delivered within a few months of the campaign, it's because the creators don't care. Maybe there's an exception somewhere but I dont know if I've seen one.

I make a spreadsheet and check it a dozen times minimum. Then during the campaign i update my numbers every 2 days so I know early if theres a discrepancy or problem.

I try to choose reliable partners, but even reliable people can sometimes slip up. Like Shawn, the artist on my 2 comics, was super reliable on Stardust, still reliable for Trixie, but he dragged at some points during Trixie's production causing us to be a little late.

People act like it's some incredible challenge. It really isn't. Know your costs, know your numbers, get the work done.

I was able to put out Stardust, Trixie, 3 novels, and a short story collection before most of these guys ever put out one book--it's because I do the work. And I'd have even more books out if money werent a problem, but putting out books is expensive.

What happened was I blocked about 8 WC people last year, and Donal messaged me crying about it saying I had to unblock WC or he was going to steal my half of Brutas. That's where all of this started.
Got any dirt you want dish while your here, or any DM's you want to share? Welcome to the Farms btw. Ethan, Wenger, JDA and Edwin all have accounts here too.
Agreed. Also, can we get some verification this is actually Nassar.
Seconding this.

Also just thought some Kiwi's might be interested. Kevin Sharp of the Indiegogo "The Dragon's Guard" is doing free sketches for ANY physical backers. Just back the book and drop your contribution ID into his live-stream chat and make a request, his a pretty talented artist and his drawing streams are quite comfy. This is the last stream/day he will be making this offer, so if you want a character drawn by an ex-pro for free with your $25 comic, now is the last time. He'll also draw weeb shit too, if that's your thing.

College students have a routine and schedule they have to follow if they want to graduate, and they can easily transfer that to the book delivery schedule. They're still, after all, still faced with the consequences of a due date of assignments, so that mentality is still fresh on their mind. Compare that to the people in CG, what schedule do they have besides scheduling livestreams to bitch and moan all day?

I'd also like to note that as a college student, you have a more "normal" social circle, as opposed to the "internet fwiends" CG people like to keep around. It keeps the sanity in check to not be hanging around a bunch of e-celeb wannabes. He's also at the prime opportunity to ask questions and advices from people at a college level in regards to publishing, and getting help from anyone who is more useful than CG creators constant ego-tripping.

Care to share the story of your exit from Ethan's circle?

The whole "muh DM's"/miscarriage thing smelled like horseshit from the get go.

Edit:

Pro's know how to hit deadlines. These guys used to do it for a living. They miss them now because they get payed before they do the work and they're lazy with little respect for the people paying them.

Also @NasserRabadi13 could you recount your fallout with Liam Gray (author of Xenotype)?

Liam Gray recently blamed you for the failure of campaign he was associated with called SWAY and claimed there was bad blood between the two of you. It was the first I had heard of it, so if you could offer a clarification for the official Kiwi record that would be appreciated.

Yeah, but how many of CG creators are actual pros? The incentive to hit deadlines was mostly a money-oriented thing if you think about it. Ethan, for example, doesn't seem to love drawing as much as he claims to. The argument for why it's going slow "because he loves it so much and needs to care for it" is bullshit. If he loved it, he'd be cranking out more work because the dopamine rush of creating is so addictive you'd be hammering it out non stop instead of bragging about doing so little work for more money.

College students on the other hand, are more likely to be studying things they actually want to go into (if they aren't just in college to do fuck all and just need a degree to get work somewhere), so there's some kind of passion for what they're learning. The incentive to hit deadlines isn't money, it's for their own development.

@NasserRabadi13 Is shipping the most expensive thing about crowdfunding or is it hiring a team (Artist, letterer, etc)?
Shipping to the US is relatively cheap, and a lot of those costs like tape and labels can be covered out of pocket (they arent really that expensive). International is a pain.

The biggest cost is definitely an artist. You have to almost make sure that that artist is good enough to pull in enough backers, since most people will buy it for the pretty pictures.

Also not to mention igg fees. 8% plus $0.30 per backer. That's the toughest calculation on the spreadsheet.

No clue what his problem is. I even had him on my channel once to promote.

You might not remember this but his goal was $15k on that one, and he said he made it $15k essentially because he wanted a lot of money. When he didnt get $15k after day 1, he made a video crying and blaming cg. He deleted it but J Ishiro made a roast video in reply.

Liam, before all this, was actually going to work with a shady artist named David Jaxon, and when I warned him about David he got super mad at me.

I really dont know why Liam always spergs about me. He lied on a yellowflash thread once saying I tried to drive him to suicide. I asked him for proof amd he couldnt give any because it doesnt exist, but yellowflash and cg spread that lie as part of a smear campaign.

Honestly I think liam is just mentally ill. Notice you had no clue what I "did" to him because he can NEVER say it, because theres nothing to say. Hes just crazy.

This stream is soooo bad. Viewers topped at 230 and currently at 201 after 30 mins. He did sell 3 whole books though!

The DLive stream was over 400 when I turned it on. Having said that...yeeeessshhh.

To paraphrase:

"Hey, Brotherrrrrrrr, Here's a Meme!"

"Hail, Brother!!! Here's another Meme!"

"Hahahaha, sooo funnny!"

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Replay is already up, for those who want to subject themselves to the autism.

Looks like this started after the YouTube stream ended.

I apologize if this ends up being a triple post; I'm new to KF and I have no clue how to reply to everyone in one message.

I'll try to keep it brief.

First Donal wanted to steal brutas from me because I blocked 8 people in WC.

Then, not long after that, I see a tweet from umbrella whatever saying hes some "amazing pro" and to "let him know if he ever isnt", and at that time he had done this extremely cringy/sjw thing of making his bio say they/them to get his "enemies" kicked off twitter.

Long story short I asked him why SJW tactics are okay. He decides to message me long incoherent rants. Tells me he isnt gonna promote my upcoming comic Ducktor Satan because I called him out (which he was never gonna promote, he didnt promote trixie). And when I told him that, he says he didnt promote trixie because his family went through a miscarriage at that time.

Later, when I talked to Peter Gilmore about a potential launch date for Ducktor Satan, he tells me that yellowflash and umbrella told him he isnt gonna make money with me and said hed need $12,300 for the book. Said he cant do 50-50 anymore. So we couldnt run a campaign because I dont have $12,300 laying around.

Peter had already drawn 24 pages and I was friends with Ethan at the time, so whatever those 2 said to him was so bad he fully did not believe in us anymore to make money. They basically pulled a mark waid.

Then Malin started to tell me we could only sell on drama, not merit. I told him i wasn't into drama anymore and he sperged at me, and suddenly I was a traitor.

I decided I'd just make books instead of comics so that people like Donal cant steal from me, and so yellowflash and umbrella couldnt coerce artists again.

So then i made a video explaining this all, it was about an hour long, and I sent it to a few friends and creators, including Ethan who leaked it.

During the video when i explain the tug drama, the part about his miscarriage is read, but it was ALREADY PUBLIC INFORMATION he had already talked about it on twitter and youtube.

Then Ethan and crew lied saying I somehow made fun of the miscarriage and yadda yadda yadda.

Hello Nasser. Your last comic could barely reach half of a very low $6k goal. Trixie Cain, on the other hand, reached $23k. Given that you seemed to be building an audience do you ever regret cutting yourself completely out of CG?
