Megathread Tranny Sideshows on Social Media - Any small-time spectacle on Reddit, Tumblr, Twitter, Dating Sites, and other social media.

There's stopping playing pretend and accepting that you never will be a woman.

There's also solutions that do not impose on literally everybody around you, or cause harm to your body. I would never have cared about it except for legal recognition of this idiocy, social pressure to cave to a dangerous lie and risk that more people will be convinced to follow a course that will destroy them. I am not ok with this.

My my, Dan’s been busy. Looks like he bullied the newspaper into rewriting his dad’s obituary. Wonder if stepmom approved?

"Can't deadname me if you're dead, dad!"

That's where you lost the argument. Women passing as men to serve in armies and do other men's only tasks were very rarely "transitioning". They were at most crossdressing and disguising themselves in order to bypass social restrictions in what they could do. Once they left those male-only spaces, the overwhelming majority of these women identified themselves as women and very often moved on to marry men and have children. They usually wore men's clothes and adopted men's mannerisms and often said they were "as good" as men (which in itself was a scandalous claim in the past), but once the jig was up they weren't trying to convince anyone that they weren't women. Instead, they usually argued that the restrictions placed against women were unwarranted. Consider them not as transgender transitioning, but as proto-feminists challenging gender roles.

Were there transgender women in the past? Most likely, yes. Dysphoria (and body dysmorphic disorder) encompasses many more aspects than just gender, and it is a mental illness that has been with us since forever. But that's not the example you want to use.

EDIT: those cases were "significant" generally because of the stink they raised. But remember that dysphoria, particularly when left untreated by therapy and/or drugs, has a very high rate of comorbid mental conditions (and suicide!). It would have been very difficult for someone with serious enough gender dysphoria to want to transition to have lived a "normal", productive or simply long life in the 19th and early 20th century.
I'm thinking of cases where the "woman" in men's clothing basically acted like an uber butch lesbian in all cases, to the extent of shaving their heads and taking female lovers.

It's not weird 1st wave feminist bullshit, it's weird 19th century tranny bullshit.

So butch lesbianism is a historical phenomenon? Butch lesbians don't (usually) consider themselves men.

I think the best approach towards transsexualism is the same as the approach towards other body dysmorphic disorders: don't feed the distorted self-image, find the sufferer healthy ways to connect with their own body and distract from distressed feelings. There's also a societal component to "treatment"--a distorted self-image doesn't come out of nowhere, and creating societal acceptance of/tolerance towards looking and acting "different" in harmless ways can go a long way towards decreasing the prevalence of disordered body distress.

If you modify your body to the extent that you look like a guy, most people treat you like a guy... Well, just because you call yourself "butch" doesn't mean that you don't look like a guy.

I still don't see what they're getting mad over. It's just lunacy at this point.
To them a 8 month old baby is genderless because she hasn't declared her sex.( I've seen them get mad at baby showers and gender reveal parties) For the journalist to say a FEMALE BABY was raped knocks on their argument that sex isn't biological.

What if they only look like a guy because society is used to seeing women with makeup and shit, which is why dudes think putting on makeup and a dress makes them a True and Honest Woman?
I mean, hell, when I hide my hair I've had people call me "sir" even with my chest clearly visible.

Not to mention government funding for their gender affirmation, something that often includes breast implants. Woe to the woman who was born with or otherwise has disfigurement of their breasts, they're shit out of luck. Oftentimes these women have serious body issues that affect their self-esteem and relationships negatively due to the fetishization of large and perfect breasts in society. Unless they shell out for "cosmetic' surgery, ofc.

Reporting on a female infant being raped? How dare you, you were actually being transphobic!! Terven scum!!!
(Sorry if it was already posted somewhere)

>IME, it makes little difference what it is that a rapist sticks his dick into.
And yet this type of violence and others similar to it are almost exclusively experienced by girls. No one needs to know their "gender" in order to rape, maim, or kill them for being female. Funny how that works!

What a stunning lack of compassion for women from Kyle "Katelyn Burns" Garrett over here. Isn't he the father of two little girls, too?

If you think a woman who has short hair and wears pants looks like a man, you may be exceptional. Cutting your hair is not a ‘body modification’ by any reasonable definition.

cut your hair short, wear mens clothes, adopt mens mannerisms, and you can absolutely pass for an androgynous and skinny young man.
Only if you're already androgynous and skinny. If you have wide hips and obvious breasts hair alone shouldn't be enough to throw people. It's weird that it does.
