wide hips are easily concealed with wide cut clothes (men rarely wear skinny jeans and skin tight crop tops) unless you have an extrem hourglass figure going on
big boobs, yeah, that'll be hard to hide. but if you've got a small to average bust then that's easy to mask with proper clothing too

being skinny is required though, you're right about that. luckily, in agest past, the vast majority of women (and people in general) were very skinny so that used to be a non issue too

The problems we're currently facing originate in the community though. The problem is "centering the most vulnerable" centered everything around the useless, frail, and sponges. The gay community fading back into normie society would be the best, not enshrining the differences.

I don't think you can really compare societies with strict gender roles to modern western society. I can't think of many things that are gender segregated. By comparison, most of those historic civilizations had arranged marriages, women as literally second class citizens, and often forbid women from owning property. Women pretending to be men would look nothing like tumblr Aidens. Likewise, many historic MtF would have been considered feminine homosexuals today, which is not the same thing.

The only real transexual I know of Egalabalus, who would alienate all his supporters and eventually be assassinated by his overbearing female relatives when he was no longer useful.

edit: Adding onto this, I know this is isn't the thread for queer sperging, but spending an amount of time in lesbian spaces have taught me that the vast amount of butches tend to look like John Belushi than anything a straight guy would fantasize about, which leads me to saying all of this

I get what you're both saying. The point I'm trying to get at isn't about intentionally hiding your features with the goal of making people assume you're male. I'm talking about how weird it is that someone like me who is not trying to do that, nor is a butch lesbian, gets told I look like a dude when all I'm doing is NOT wearing makeup or something.

There has been a ton of studies into human facial recognition and how people gender faces.
In experiments when shown just a face - no hair, body, clothes, men tend to have about a 95% accuracy at assigning the correct sex, and with women it's usually higher with between 95 and 98%.

Hips, breasts, clothes, height, make-up - they're all just distractions... We SEE them.

They can take all the filtered selfies they like, but they don't pass irl, and even the best ones will trigger some kind of cognitive dissonance for the rest of us.

Ill try and dig out some of the studies I've read, they're quite interesting.

It would be interesting to know how many FTMs who are read as male would still be read as male without facial hair. Like a lot of them are weird looking, but women don’t have beards, so anyone with a beard must be a man. That’s why women could pass as men more easily back in the day — in a world where women always wear dresses, anyone in pants is going to be seen as male, even if they look a little off. (And there were instances of men being dressed as women to smuggle them out of places, working on the same principle in reverse).

I think we found a promising cow in the transgender kids thread, you might want to check it out if you don't look at that thread often.
Heather "Stubby" Golob is a 32 year old woman who collects deaf children the way cat ladies collect cats. She has four deaf biological kids and seems to have adopted two more. Mama Golob claims one of the kids (Isaac/Ivy) came out of the tranny closet at two years old. Now he's nine years old and she's exploiting him for attention. It's a trainwreck.
