Looking at Water Wave's stream right now and that many people out is making me nervous. The cops don't have a non malicious reason for allowing so many people to congregate like that.
The US has a serious problem with institutional racism. Of course racial and ethnic inequalities are everywhere and produced mainly while the socialization of many people in capitalism. But in the US are police officers unable to secure and execute basic human and civil rights for everybody. This makes it almost a failed state. What we now need is a new civil right movement that speaks out about the links between institutional racism and capitalism that btw also hurts white people. Nobody has done this since the 1960s.
I imagine mil.k is a base, while tear gas is an acid, which balances the PH

This is all assuming tear gas works like other spicy things - it's generally made with capsaicin IF IRC.

Its the same principal of spicy food and milk. Pepper spray is just pure Capsaicin, the active componant in spicy foods. That molecule binds to receptors on mucus membranes (mouth/eyes/nose) and causes a burning pain. Milk proteins can bind and prevent Capsaicin from attaching to those receptors.

Its supposed to help counteract the effects of tear gas by washing your face with milk. We don't really know how effective it actually is though. Other protesters have used coca-cola, vinegar, onions, and spray bottles of water and baking soda.

capsaicin (the stuff that makes chili peppers taste spicy) is soluble in milk (because of fat) but not in water. people who do "eat this hot pepper fast" challenges on youtube always chug gallons of milk because it helps wash the heat away.
guess what is also full of capsaicin? pepper spray. i guess that's where the milk meme comes from.
whether it actually helps agaisnt tear gas on the other hand, i don't know. plenty of different compounds are used for tear gas, i don't think they're capsaicin based though
