Something I always wondered was why Chris never went back to Anime Mid-Atlantic or any of the other conventions in Virginia back in the 2000's?

Really, it wasn't until after he trooned out that he started going back to cons again. I'm honestly surprised he never went back to Anime Mid-Atlantic, NekoCon, or any of the other conventions in that area in the mid and late 2000's.

He seems really happy at conventions overall (Too Many Games not withstanding) and I'm at least a bit puzzled that he never went back to a con until a decade later, and I think he enjoyed Anime Mid-Atlantic back then too.

Nah, you're probably onto something there. I think that the Ohio trip probably freaked them out more than we're aware of. As to why he didn't do more cons after Anime Mid Atlantic, my guess is money was one of the big factors, since we all know Chris blows through his tugboat as fast as he gets it and never bothers saving for anything important. Like Prussians said, 2006-2007 was also the period of his life when he was going to the Game Place and hanging out with Megan, finishing up at PVCC, acquiring his PS3, and commencing the Long War against the trolls. He was probably too busy/distracted to think of going to cons at that time.

That's not really possible to do without literally going through it all, since most of it is garbage that Barb bought at thrift stores. One could probably figure out the value (at least the purchase value) of all of the toys in Chris' rooms, though.

Most of the value has been destroyed by entropy because it is in such hoarder chaos that for every valuable item, an appraiser would have to go through a mountain of garbage, animal feces and other junk, so take the value of whatever is buried under all the Barbage and subtract the hourly rate of a professional appraiser times the hours it would take to go through it.

It might be worth it for someone who has lived there and has some idea what's in it to go through it but by the time Chris is that desperate, he'll be about to be thrown out and they'll just throw all the hoard in the trash as part of the cleanup before selling it.

Considering the current climate of social media all trolls would be demonised as evil ableist bigots, probably. Especially if it was post-troon out.

Old school Chris’ homophobia and racism might throw a spanner in the works but I feel like the tumblr crowd would have defended him anyway.

Either that or it goes in the full opposite direction and we’d have a #CWCcancelledparty with people patting themselves on the back for calling out a delusional autist

I knew nothing of Chris until a few years ago. In fact I think I first became aware of this story when the comprehensive history was released to great critical acclaim. Since then I've learned the basic outlines of christory. I have to say I feel really bad about the sadistic stuff. It's so grotesque that it's not even possible to explain to those who aren't already aware of it. I suspect future generations living in a metro 2033-like dystopia are going to come back to Christory as the harbinger of all the madness was to come from the internet that would eventually end civilization.
