I've noticed pretty much every time there's ANTIFA/anarchist presence at a protest or riot there's some argument about whether someone is an agent provocateur or not because of the silly tacticool gear in their "as sketchy as humanly possible" aesthetic.

Exactly. The protests here are in memory of one Dontre Hamilton, a skitzo homeless man who was harassing people outside a downtown Starbucks. He grabbed the officer's baton and was subsequently shot. None of his family wanted to have anything to do with him; matter of fact several (?) family members (at least his mom) had restraining orders out on him. Magically, though, once shot, they all came crawling out of the woodwork to capitalize on his death and his brother, who seems to not have anything else to do (a la King Rick of the MKE Black Panthers) has been megaphoning anytime something goes down in the city. Haven't really heard much from him lately but am certainly not surprised that he's dragging his nutty brother's death out once again for this.
