So, he basically dug his own grave. He could have shot Nick once, called the cops, the teens would have went to prison, and he would be free.

he could have killed them both and gotten away with it too. two or three shells of buckshot to the chest is pretty much guaranteed to kill, and can reasonably be portrayed as self defense in the heat of the moment.

but going for headshots after they're already on the ground? that literally screams "execution style murder". lying in wait to ambush them? that literally screams "premeditated" and "in cold blood". and recording the whole thing on tape just puts irrefutable evidence of his conduct in the hands of the court.

The people claiming that these places that were burned down will be just fine are some of the biggest idiots I've ever had the displeasure of coming across.

And it's funny because half the people I've been seeing claiming this are privileged upper-middle-class white e-thots who have probably never been within ten miles of a ghetto and would piss themselves if they did. Them assuming that every single one of these business will be totally fine is so massively disconnected from reality that it'd be hysterical if it weren't so concerning.

I've spent quite a bit of time volunteering in cities and towns where job deserts have formed due to industry dying out and smaller businesses and chains moving away. The amount of human misery and desperation there isn't something I'd wish on anyone. These idiots don't realize that they're cheering on the creation of job deserts and the death of any chance at making that area a safe, happy, livable community. All they see is fire and getting back at the nebulous figure that is "the man", not realizing that they're just beating anyone who's trying to claw their way up back down to the bottom of the barrel.
