His entire essay sounds like r/ThatHappened. That “business man” could have just been a former WH staff member. What middle aged African American business would start an email by saying “Dude”, especially to a former president.
Just wondering, to what extent would Trump's spat with Twitter, COVID, and the recent riot in Minneapolis affect the election?
Agree with your analysis but I'm going to predict they'll ignore that he said this just like how they pretend his take on Charlottesvile was "Nazis are great people, I prefer my Jews low and slow at 1488 degrees"Plus, he said what happened was flat out wrong a day or two ago before the rioting started
Aren’t a lot of people against his beef with Twitter for damn good reason? If this law passes, we’ll be even deeper in censorship messes all because of Trump acting like a ruhtard over his ego.Twitter is going to be for Trump when people see the massive hypocrisy in play when compared to other leaders or special blue checkmarks and how they won't touch Ayatolah's or Chyna. It's what makes me think Trump wanted this fight and has been deliberately pushing the Psycho Joe stuff because he wants to be removed so he can play victim and kill Twitter, which a lot of people want just to end the online mob mentality.
Corona Chan, coupled with how Chyna is making themselves look even worse by fucking up Hong Kong, will be another bullet point of "Trump was right" that Biden has no leverage against. And I think he's chomping at the bit to say everyone lied and made it overblown and we could have opened a month earlier. I think that's why they're hitting the hydroxychloroquine and the inject bleach so much, to muddy Trump's previous words of trying to get America working again.
The Minnesota thing is so blatantly wrong by the cop like that asshole cop in Arizona a year ago who made the guy crawl to him, freak him out with orders he couldn't do, and then shot him anyway. But like always, and as seen with Obama's recent fart huffing, the left will overreach and pretend riots aren't riots, call everyone racist and turn them away from any attempt at real change. Trump's thug tweet is hard to ignore or spin as racist to normal people when people are blowing up police stations and rioting while MSNBC says nothing's going wrong. Plus, he said what happened was flat out wrong a day or two ago before the rioting started
So far there is no law. The EO directs the FTC and FCC to look into ToS fuckery and that if they're being uneven or banning for non-violations (spoiler: they are) they could lose platform status. Then he tweeted about section 230 this morning and everyone's losing their minds and acting like it's a done deal.Aren’t a lot of people against his beef with Twitter for damn good reason? If this law passes, we’ll be even deeper in censorship messes all because of Trump acting like a ruhtard over his ego.

She even rated it herself.
I’d like to see them try. It’s because of these people that Trump spends a lot more on security.
Judging by the reactions on this very site, you’d think Trump was already killing the net.He just needs to get Twitter to blink. Either they lose a bunch of users because of their bullshit or they get smacked with being a publisher.
And I doubt Jack Dorsey wants to go down in history as the man that killed the internet.

Yeah, I've seen the banner thread. Kind of reminds me of the Wu Flu thread with the literal shaking in it.Judging by the reactions on this very site, you’d think Trump was already killing the net.
How is he using executive fiat to do it? That's not what the executive order says. In fact, the executive order specifically relies upon provisions of the CDA. He is proposing to enforce provisions that deny a safe harbor protection to companies who censor content according to a political bias.I don't like it, and honestly wished he just tried the bastards for stepping into things as a publisher, showing why you don't pull that shit as a "platform", rather than use executive fiat to win.
The funny thing to me is that Twitter, Google, etc are already killing the net. They are already all doing exactly what these people claim to be worried about Trump doing. They're more upset about the intimation that silicon valley tech firms would face repercussions for their censorship and attempted cultural and political engineering than they have ever been about the same silicon valley tech firms carrying out that censorship. I don't understand how the 'liberal' position on the internet became the one where corporations get to do whatever they want to individuals.Judging by the reactions on this very site, you’d think Trump was already killing the net.

Corporations made rainbow logo variants and said you are valid and probably trans if you can shove a whole school bus up your rectumI don't understand how the 'liberal' position on the internet became the one where corporations get to do whatever they want to individuals.

I reckon I need to reread it then. How is he using executive fiat to do it? That's not what the executive order says. In fact, the executive order specifically relies upon provisions of the CDA. The only place he talked about repealing the CDA was in a tweet, where he called upon others to repeal it rather than claiming he could do so himself. Have you read the executive order?
