I'd rather just see Arin come to a snap realization that he's given up on his actual passions and has just settled, and then do something about it. I know it's overly-optimistic, but as somebody who likes to draw and hasn't put the time into it recently it honestly kind of sucks to just see the guy haven given up on his own creative pursuits. There was some stream of his I caught a long while back in where he showed off this Pokemon Puzzle League-esque game he had been working on, and from what of it I watched he seemed pretty genuinely happy to get wrapped up in some sort of honest creative drive again. It was wholesome to see that sort of 'spark', making something just for its own sake and not something to just shill out for pandering later on. Like it was something he wanted to make just because he wanted to do it.

I like watching the cows here, but it's honestly just sort of sad to see somebody you somewhat relate to wallow in their own mediocrity. Honestly just wish they could just be their best selves sometimes, but again, that's probably overly-optimistic.

I’m pretty sure Arin confessed a while back that he never really had a passion for animation, and he just got into it because a lot of guys he looked up to online did it and he figured he could be successful with it.

Not a 100% on that but I remember hearing him say that somewhere.

He very clearly enjoys losing himself in the creative process. At points over the years he's spoken of how he just likes making things, and I feel him there. Like I said, it sucks to see him going all """corporate""" and whatnot, since in my own opinion the guy's at his best when he's actually making shit just for its own sake. Granted, I've no idea where he'd possibly fit in the time with the amount one must have to upload to stay in the black on YT. Arin being where he's at now bugs me as much as it does because I like to jump from project to project, and I know the dude could do so much better if he just, well, did something. Not to imply I'm doing anything, so, hey.

He is the worst type of creative person though. He is a LAZY creative person. The reason he continued doing animation despite having no real passion for it is the same reason he is doing GG, Because it was something could make money off of to continue subsisting on his lazy existence. Don't get me wrong, Arin had a lot of success with his animations (not undeserved either) and animating is incredibly taxing. But Arin was very sporadic with releasing his animations as if he got a lot of energy when he had no money and then got lazy once he saw the money come in and knew he could float a few weeks/months/years.

There is nothing inherently wrong with this mindset, motherfuckers got to eat somehow. But its why we have this tale of two Arin's. One is a dedicated worker who loves creating for the sake of it and the other is a lazy money grubbing ass who can't be bothered to think of how to maintain his future. He is quite literally a victim of his own success and since GG has made him THINK he is set for life (he isn't, he will find a way to spend it all after his success finally runs dry) he doesn't have to bother with trying.

Yeah, that's all very true. I really wish he'd figure out a way to reconcile the 'two Arins' problem. It's great to watch a cow like Werner spiral about in their insanity, because we're not losing anything of value, but it's just unfortunate to see a cow throwing their potential away, as cheesy as that is.

At the end of the day I suppose it's all self-imposed like you say.
 

Was watching this episode for curiosity and within the first five minutes it's an ongoing conversation over the Tennis shirt selling like crazy and them explaining merch.

They said that during the "Backstreet boys concert" that they're only guessing on how much will sell as they want to avoid overstocking. They actually mention the waterbottle that we talked about in here earlier exclaiming they were blown away with how quick they sold. They said they could always carry a ton of shirts, but the waterbottles take up more room so they didn't get as much.

I'm more so just floored they're making new merch on the constant despite the whole economy being down. The episode was probably dated to being the first couple weeks of quarantine so to see them boast about all this stuff selling without questioning if it was ethical to sell a bunch of exclusive merch during this time is a little Ariny.

Barry left of his own free will, Ryan and Matt of Supermega fame left of their own free will, I think even Kevin (was that his name?) left of his own free will. I'm sure it didn't help that Dan literally introduced him by making jokes about wanting to fuck him.

You gotta wonder, since they work with some women now if Dan's gone full sexpest. I guess all their employees are over 20 and therefore out of Dan's preferred age range. Really makes you :thinking:though. Even if they're just "jokes" that doesn't breed a good work environment.

Back to Ben though, I really don't think they'll fire him, incompetent shithead that he is. Editors are vital to their business and they'd need to find a new one ASAP. That's just a hair too much effort for Arin's couchbound ass. Arin has absolutely no spine, he can't handle running a busines despite all posturing otherwise. As many have noted in this thread he seems to be under the impression that trying to be friends with all his employees is a good move. And firing them would mean they might not show up to his monthly DnD sessions anymore. :,(

I might've missed some of their editors but I doubt they would've gotten fired seeing how much of a pussy Arin is. I'm too lazy to go back through the thread to find their employee lists but weren't most of the people gone only interns or whatever? The only major person in GG history (unless I'm seriously missing something) who might've been fired is Jon. And that's basically a conspiracy theory anyway.

Feel free to disagree but my conclusion is that Arin fired Ben, is now doing the editing without having seen Ben or Barry's editing tutorial and can't figure out how to add links to the end of videos. He's also too embarrassed to admit he's editing these videos, I guess, because he's inexperienced, but also he'd have to admit he fired Ben, which he obviously doesn't want to do, in order to protect his image in that retarded Egoraptor way. This dumb vagueness is exactly why conspiracygrumps exists, man.

Here's my excuse. That edit wasn't made until after I screengrabbed it. This person was talking about donating in order to apologise to Arin next time he streams so how he's part of a hate campaign led by us, apparently, is beyond me, not to mention what asking Arin about Ben would even accomplish. I love how MrUnlikable is in such denial about Ben being a cunt that he thinks anybody that critices him must be part of a hate campaign. He's gonna hate knowing Arin's definitely fired him

Anything related to Ben that says "may or may not have been deleted". Yeah no it's deleted. Stream question discussion? Gone. General thoughts on Ben as an editor? Gone. Asking where he's been and who the new editor is? Gone. And this spans for multiple pages, all within the past week.
