Wait, really? Not a cent is going to be paid over this?

I can't speak for every single policy holder whose property has been destroyed as a result of these riots, but civil unrest is a common exclusion in many insurance policies.

It's in the same category as exclusions such as acts of war or terrorism as far as standard exclusions are concerned.

そうだねx100!

Insurance companies always look for loopholes to screw you over and so they don't have to pay.

Indeed. It's probably not such a big deal for the major corporations whose property was damaged, as they can afford to get the damage repaired. Some may even self-insure.

Where it becomes problematic is when public property is damaged, as every single taxpayer within the jurisdiction will end up paying for the damage.

The victims I most feel for are Mom and Pop business owners who don't have a lot of spare cash and may not even be aware that their insurance won't cover them. Think along the lines of that small bookstore that Regg took footage of.

Morning everyone. Update from last night in Milwaukee: The pops that woke me were gunshots. Attempted takeover of District 5, the Fast-n-Friendly across from the PD station was looted as well as the mobile phone shop connected to it. This is the corner I go to all the time, and where I used to catch the bus to work, when I worked. One officer was shot, but will recover.

Roomie is heading up north to his lake house, but since he hates me he is coming home soon rather than staying overnight. Hahaha like dude, the nogs across the street pump music that rattles our entire house and your choice to confront is: IMMA MOW THE LAWN. Whatcha gonna do if they come around here, grab the hedge trimmer? Doofus.
Sorry for the rant but I am not in a good headspace, I catch hell whenever I try to go out or even just listen to music through headphones and sing. The small overnight respite from his drunk abusive ass just evaporated. THANKS LOOTERS!!

I don't know why, but Cuckbot is the best thing to happen all evening. Regg was great, but Cuckbot... he's something alright. He needs to turn TTS on.

Wheelchair master race

Every year there's some live stream autist and it involves wheelchairs somehow.

The "Ice Poseidon has AIDS" comment on the Regg one was also great.

Did you hear this?! With a fucking MORNING STAR! How can you nazis still sit here on Kiwifarms and pretend things aren't happening. These things are serious and are only getting worse. This is no play anymore! This is REAL and we should DO something!

I'll get up and DO SOMETHING right after I finished binge watching this show on Netflix.

In my experience with working at places that are big corporate chains, a lot of them are themselves owned by a different company too. You can have a restaurant that has completely different insurance from some nevada or maine. One constant that always exists that I've noticed is the utter lack of money. A chain store may be a part of a company that owns a bunch of other stores in the same state, and rebuilding the entire thing may be seen as a complete waste of time so they just sell that store off or something along those lines. Maybe that store performs very well and they rebuild, maybe it was seen as the black sheep and they cut their losses.

But another thing we have to think about is a lot of businesses were burnt down at the aame time, so companies may decide that the city is beyond screwed and decide to sell their store off
