There was an interesting discursive piece a couple years back, speculating that this is the reason things from the past like vinyl, cassettes, and other "retro" cultural icons are coming back in vogue. People (typically millenials and zoomers) want to live in the idealised version of a time period they never experienced, because those times are depicted as being much more simpler or stable.

I legit think it is because they are interested in all the stuff their parents talk about. They have not seen or read stuff.
