I could be mistaken since I haven't worked retail, so maybe you could enlighten me, but I'm under the impression that insurance wouldn't cover lost retail stock. Damages to the building are one thing, but isn't the store on the hook for things that get stolen? Shoplifters love to justify stealing from chain stores because "lol megacorps won't feel this," but I thought I'd heard that losses are generally contained to the store in question and they don't go all the way up the chain to corporate. And even if losses are covered, the manager still has to answer to corporate about them. If you're willingly letting rioters walk up and take whatever they want, heads are gonna roll when all is said and done.

Anytime shoplifting to stick it to the man comes up, I immediately think of that troon's poorly-received comic on the subject, the one where he implied that he deserved free art supplies because reasons (and even admitted to shoplifting constantly in his teens). Got some well-deserved blowback for that one. Not his first shitty take since he also did the New Guy comic that got memed to hell and back.

I don't know about insurance covering lost retail stock, I was just a attendant, but I think it may depend on the occasion. In these riots with mass looting, I think it's very likely it's all under insurance. But as you said, someone has to answer for this, and no matter if you think by stealing you are sticking to a corporation, you are just making the life of a overworked manager even more hellish.

Also, what people don't realise about big business is that it isn't just about money, it's to keep the machine going. Way, way to many moving parts, if they don't keep a strict eye on every part of the process, including keeping a keen eye on inventory, the whole thing can fall apart, and then what? hwta are you going to do with thousands of people out of a job?

Yes, Robert. And be sure to shut off the water supply to the sprinklers as well, and knock back a tumbler of Chlorox before calling the insurance company.

The Rebellion led by Leia failed so hard that the "victory" they got was undone in a matter of years when the First Order formed and the Republic created by her collapsed. The three old heroes died disgraced, literally Hitler survived and continued to get stronger and rule from the shadows for another 30 years. Palpatine was only defeated through the Force of bad writing, because the good guys girl didn't do anything to deserve the victory.

READ ANOTHER BOOK and I thought Just Kidding Rowling was absolutely haram now? In any case, the Harry Potter books also say the media lies and sensationalizes things to suit their agenda. Like, they do that a fucking lot and there's not only an entire character that's a personification of tabloids (Rita Skeeter) but the media lying is a plot point in the last book. Funny how that part never gets brought up whenever they talk about it.

In Hunger Games the "resistance" was one of the Districts plotting to overthrow the Capitol so they could be the powerful untouchable assholes in charge. Probably not the best comparison for fighting against oppression.

And the list goes on and on...
You mean to say that real life isn't like a yong adult novel, were a band of 5 teenage heroes manage to single handily the world from a cartoonishly evil antagonist.

Even if it were, none of the examples mentioned have one of the teenagers be in lesbians with another so Bob couldn't be bothered to care. Won't someone in the writers' room please think of Bob's needs and make two girls just kiss already?!

Bob only relates to this because he's old enough to have a zoomer kid that would be rebellious against him.

Third, Insurance isn't magical money that falls from the heaven like mana. Insurances companies have very strict policies to make sure that the system can't be abused. If you are to just put away the "TVs and Shit" on the front door, the insurance can simply point out that was no break in, you just gave away product. And that can be even more exacerbated if you are the galaxy brain here and kill the tapes.
Also you have to get an specific insurance for almost every situation unless specified in the insurance package that can cover several situations.
Who knows if those stores have insurance in case lost stock/property damage due to protest/riots/civil unrest.

Well that's what I've noticed with a lot of the left - they seem to believe that the system is never abused. Ask them what's the plan to keep perverts from abusing the trans bathroom deal. Or bring up voter fraud and watch them defend for hours that it just doesn't happen. It is a remarkably hilarious sense of naivete.
It's been a while but I remember there's a quote about this.
"The Right believes that people are corrupt. The Left believes that institutions are corrupt*."
Laws, traditions, institutions, and systems are the source of all evil to modern Leftists...Right up until they get control of them then they become perfect and infallible.
It's less naivete and more entirely cynical power lust.
Not that any of that guides Bob's thought process because he doesn't have a thought process to begin with.
*Unless they're the ones running them of course.

Do you think he's actually donated or is his stupid enough to throw money down the toilet when he has bill collectors hounding him while his patron shrinks?

Yes Bob, as a fellow fat fuck thinking he's basically Rambo with better politics you are allowed to make fun of him. Mostly because the irony goes so far above your head that even your Twitter-combat-steeled reflexes won't let you catch it.

I think so.

Also, this is something Bob would say right now.

Tomlinson is a massive cow in his own right. We've had a thread on him in the prospering grounds section for awhile, but it's struggled to move out of there.

This is the guy who was so fucking butthurt about r/opieandanthony making fun of him that he went on autistic crusade to get them taken down.

Lost retail stock is generally blamed on the cashiers and people working on the floor yes. But it is also mixed in with stuff like cashiers mistakes, products received damaged etc. It is usually cut from the amount of profits each year and corporate counts it as a loss, it's not insured to my knowledge. Each year where I work we have a stupid meeting where managers are super patronizing and are like "make sure you follow these steps to prevent loss!"

I would say in a situation with a riot though it would be a special exception because that's not something they want anyone stepping in and trying to prevent. Definitely not insured like the building itself is

Isn’t he a author like Chuck Wendig?

Ask an average 30-something guy to make a wish, he'd likely say "a promotion to senior manager", "a bigger house" or "the 2020 Lexus ES" or "I just want my kids to be happy".
Ask Bobby, and he'd say "I want an ugly cartoon character to be bisexual."
