I'm curious as to what will happen tomorrow. Anyone who works in the cities that still has a job and an office not burnt down will probably be more than a little worried about having to drive through more "protesters" and spend 8-hours constantly worrying if someone will attack them or their work place.

I remember a section of the book Detroit by Charlie LeDuff where he was a reporter for the newspaper there shortly after 2008. The city had no money, was absorbed by the state, ambulances couldn't get to you in less than 30 mins no matter where if they didn't break down, arson was constant and one of the firefighters he was following burned to death trying to put one out, cops were basically useless, and the whole place just seemed so hopeless.

The words that stuck with me, paraphrased, were "Where the fuck are the cops? Where the fuck are the government? Where the fuck is anyone?"
