Razörfist / The Rageoholic / xRazorfistx / Daniel Paul Harris - Hipster Metalfag. Game Journo-Doesn't Play Games He Reviews. Thief Fanfic Author. COOMER AND GROOMER.

His first review was of FF7 on Game trailers. Basically he did a contrarian AVGN while doing a shitty Dennis Miller impression.

Hes also apparently put a lot of work into his upcoming FF7 remake review. Im sure the guy who has a bias against the entire franchise will give it a fair shake

There's video eveidence out there, or atleast a thumb nail, that Daniel does indeed give things a fair shake.

Funny little development concerning the developer that Razor shills for.

He was very quick to assert that he "called it" concerning System Shock 3, it seems that the original rumors about OtherSide Entertainment employees being laid off were actually accurate.

Development is transferring from OtherSide to... well, Chinese-owned Tencent.

We are happy to announce that Tencent will be taking the #SystemShock franchise forward.

As a smaller Indie studio, it had been challenging for us to carry the project on our own. We believe Tencent's deep capabilities and expertise as a leading game company will bring the franchise to new heights.

the search function didnt turn up anything and this one measly little thought just popped up again inside my walnut brain so i figured id share this little tidbit while i still remember - razorfist goes by captain spandex on through the looking glass (ttlg), a 20+ year old community dedicated to looking glass's back catalog + feverishly shitting on Ebil Orang Man in community chat's illustrious 500 page long blumpf thread. i dont watch the dude but afaik he's praised the original thief trilogy thousands of times and he's been sucking otherside's dick for the last few years so im semi confident that i dont even need to prove that this is him

unfortunately you need an account on ttlg to even view other users' accounts to begin with but the last few pages of this thread are pretty enlightening....

It reads like Razorfist and it proudly states their from Phoenix.

Ironic how the company he simps for is super anti trump aswell as its fan forum. Danny sure likes sucking off the leftists he hates so much.

Considering how badly he understands politics does he even realize that? For example he thinks that its possible to beat a liberal democrat representing the most liberal part of Phoenix (voted for Clinton by an absurd 50 points) with an extremely conservative republican! The area is so liberal republicans didn't even bother to field a candidate in 2018!

I like the tactic in the latest video wherein he frames Ann Coulter as a dishonest grifter for endorsing Hillary over McCainn in 2008.

How many videos does he not just mention in passing, but dedicate the meat of, towards how much he hated John McCainn and wanted nothing to do with him, and loathed the maverick's apparent stranglehold on the media both statewide and national level, thereby guaranteeing his Senate seat for decades?
You'd think he'd applaud Coulter for having some semblance of principles, but then he wouldn't have a video.

If Coulter actually batted for the Dems Trump wouldn't have a chance. He basically lifted his immigration policy wholesale from her Adios America book, and if the Democrats took to heart even half of her twitter feed and got the media to run with such material, Trump's base would be so thoroughly demoralised then they'd be able to get a medical prescription for the opioids everybody else is chugging

This idiot keeps claiming everyone rioting in Arizona is coming in from California. Why would Californians feel the need to travel to Arizona when the riots happening in their own state are larger and more violent

He's probably somewhat right, there were rumors of Antifa agitators travelling city to city to stir shit up.

So I’m a tad biased because I actually loved the FF7 Remake quite a bit,
But beginning the review with ranting about Square Enix requiring reviews to be labeled as an “ad” and then calming that’s “dishonest” makes no sense. In fact, that’s probably the most honest system to get a review copy Ive ever seen.
He also got his combat rant so incorrect it makes me wonder if he even played final fantasy 13, let alone this one.
the casual mode does the basic attacks for you and you focus on doing the atb stuff. Lame for sure, but not close to 13’s turn based combat. It’s most similar to a game called The Last Story on the Wii.
Everyone agrees the padded some aspects of the game out, but the scenes he highlighted are the scenes intended to build characters up, which is an odd thing for a role playing fan to hate on.

Watching it:
1. Razor criticizing Sqenix for having review copies videos titled as ads for being.... manipulative? Despite literally being the exact opposite (if you recieved a review copy you should definitely announce it).
2. Mugh sjw.
3. Midgard is more modern and that's.... not future proofed?
4. Characters are auto leveled after not being in the party and it's bad, because everyone loves having dead weight characters for several fights until they catch up.
5. Finding few cases of bad textures and using it as an example that the graphics are bad.
6. It's not open world.

Actual real criticisms are having bad combat, linear leveling and level design, and the ending. The last one was already discussed to death and I don't know if the others are actual real criticisms or Razor overexaggerating so he can go "it's exactly like FF13!".

He’s exaggerating all of them. The combat won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but it generally finds a good middle ground, especially since you can swap freely and every character has a radically different play style, none are like any of the FF13 games. It’s closer to a blend of kingdom hearts and FF15 with the fallout 3 targeting mechanic.

The levels are somewhat linear, but there’s more to the areas than just hallways. Incidentally, the part where he bitched about tifa saying you can get lost is actually a maze like puzzle and one of the most open level sections in the game.

I’ll give him the textures because they can indeed be bad. Cloud’s door to his apartment is infamous at this point, and I actually did stop and stare at that shitty prerendered background he pointed out.

the side quests are mostly lame, but almost all are avoidable. They all are given to you in blocks based on the chapter, so they do slow the story down, but they’re not constantly available. The difference is they determine minor story stuff. One row of side quests determines Aerith’s dress, the other determines cloud’s and so on. The chocobo one he mentions is literally at the end section when you leave the open midgar part, which was a bit disingenuous on his end.
