Yes. I don’t think a lot of people understand exactly how bad the riots of 1968 were, we aren’t even close to that level yet. TANKS were used in some cities.

Want to know the reasons many areas in cities became decayed wastelands with mostly poor blacks living in them? The 1968 riots are a big factor. Whites were already leaving cities but it was a stampede after 1968 and they took the tax base with them. The badly needed tax funding, people and businesses needed to rebuild after the riots were gone. It began the era of blocks of boarded up city buildings that became nests for junkies and crackheads to use.

Do you realize how cheap it was to buy a house in SanFran in the 70’s and 80’s..or even parts of lower Manhattan? (NYC would sell you empty buildings on the LES if you just paid the tax lien off!!)

It’s a bit hilarious this is happening now that some cities have finally recovered and prospered after the turmoil of forty years ago (and the 70s economy). The folks “genetrifying” cities are getting a wake up call to why previous generations left.

I remember grandparents shaking their heads at their grandkids moving back into major cities, the same cities they had worked so hard to get the fuck out of Fifty years ago.

But city real estate markets are going to take a huge hit -from this and infectious disease fears- and that will piss off the big boys at the banks and investment firms. So we will see how much further they let things slide.

Antifa's part in the riots is way more organized and aggressive, that much is obvious. And black people are starting to notice, yeah.
But don't make the mistake of thinking BLM is on your side just because you both hate pasty antifa kids. To them, these antifa troublemakers are just white people, nothing more and nothing less.

Morning everyone. Last night was popping off in my MKE neighborhood again. Woke up at 11:45pm to dozens upon dozens of police cars heading to the corner by the cop shop (too) close to me. Heard lots of fireworks, saw smoke and found out a fire was set a few blocks south in the street. Choppers and the echos of sirens were in the air for at least 5 hours; felt like being in a damn war zone. Fortunately, there were no deaths or major injuries from scanning the news this AM. I hope everyone is staying safe. My nerves are shot after three nights of this shit.

Better than the last two nights as far as I can tell, but DC cut cell towers early this morning after rioters defaced monuments and set fire to a guardhouse.
