The "independent" autopsy has come to a different conclusion than the one conducted by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, claiming that he was asphyxiated.
An independent autopsy ordered by George Floyd's family found his death was a "homicide caused by asphyxia due to neck and back compression."

The Civil Rights movement began because all of that segregation was making it impossible for the black community to build their own businesses or freely use any public service (they paid taxes as well). It also made it impossible for whites to do business with them because you had to build a completely separate building, or make a separate area in your building to even take a black man money. Don’t forget that said area had to be shitty, because you’ll run into “problems” if blacks had the same quality of anything a white person had. Jim Crow was legislation that deliberately made one group of people employ shitty business practices on purpose while taking another group and trying to make sure they couldn’t compete fairly in the marketplace. If that Un-American bullshit hadn’t been allowed to take place, we would probably have more Booker T. Washingtons than [insert generic rap persona here].
Civil Rights did its job. It killed Jim Crow. The problem is that a bunch of posers want to “slay the evil dragon” because they can’t do anything worthwhile on their own, along with a bunch of grifters and greedy bastards that want more than a fair shot at the top, are manufacturing their own monsters to fight. As a result, we have this onslaught of bullshit that leads to riots.
Black-owned firms thrived under Jim Crow. After Jim Crow, black-owned firms had to compete with white-owned firms and lost in basically every industry. Who runs most of the businesses now in black areas? Asians (including Indians) and Arabs,. Funnily enough, the richest of those populations migrate to America and take advantage of government grants and low-interest loan programs that were originally only intended for black Americans. They set up shop in black communities, gouge the fuck out of blacks, and make a killing doing it.
Similarly, after school desegregation, the number of black teachers dropped dramatically. Liberals today argue that the teaching profession is too white and blacks need teachers that look like them to thrive academically. Interesting.
Historically the North and South have generally had the same outlook on race, but Northerners (namely WASPs) have a standards of decorum to masquerade their in-group preference. Northerners that advocated for various pieces of federal legislation viewed them as things that would only apply to the South. To this day, Northern schools are much more segregated than Southern schools. This isn't a controversial view, in fact many liberals have written about it.
Salon:
Six months after he organized the March on Washington, civil rights stalwart Bayard Rustin was in New York City preparing for an even larger protest. On Feb. 3, 1964, more than 460,000 students, predominantly black and Puerto Rican, stayed out of school to protest educational inequality and school segregation in the Big Apple. The New York City school boycott was the largest of the civil rights era, but few people know this history.
On the anniversary of NYC's huge school boycott, we'd do well to consider what hasn't changed in the city

Massachusetts schools don't teach that the state had the first segregated transportation (rail cars, specifically) in the country's history. Many Northern restaurants and landlords wouldn't service blacks.
Hell, forced busing was arguably more controversial in the North than the South. It led to many protests, but many of the whites protesting against it put on a facade to publicly pretend it wasn't about race.
