This is something I have thought about before, but the question for me has always been "who will be our Franco?" Large sections of the Spanish military and (crucially) the Spanish officer corps/military brass were very politicized by the time Franco stormed in from the Canary Islands and kicked things off. Yet, our military is not nearly at that point yet. The other key element that exacerbated the civil war was foreign intervention, with heavy support from Mussolini and Hitler playing a decisive role in ensuring Nationalist victory over the Soviet-backed Republicans. It is interesting to think about which foreign actors would intervene in Civil War 2.0, and which side each would be on. Would Russia and China be on the same side, or would they both try to play both sides? How would Israel get involved? Would the Saudis have a role?

Don't the precincts cover thousands of people though? Precinct data would be too coarse for that kind of targetting unless you just want to say "Fuck the blue cities, just defend the suburbs".

Even if the entire legal system was abolished they would keep rioting. They don't actually care about George Floyd. At this point they're just angry and want to take out their anger on something.
