Several years back, on the boards I used to hang out on, I asked a bunch of shitlibs to try and justify the intervention in Libya, and to explain why the Responsibility to Protect wasn’t a double standard used to justify and whitewash wars of aggression. They explained that because Gaddafi had the military and police out shooting rioters, he had forfeited his right to rule.
I found it very odd. Not only is the suppression of violent unrest one of the primary functions of a sovereign nation, the idea that military force would be used on another country on account of us disliking the way they handled a domestic matter struck me as absurd. For those who did not take part in the riots, we were literally depriving them of their government for no discernible reason.
The police and National Guard have already shot a few rioters. Now, will those same opportunistic moral cowards who cheered Obama’s military adventurism support an international intervention to bomb the US and depose our president? Of course not. They may be willing to call Trump a dick tater, but they would never be willing to hold him to the same standards as tin-pot Middle Eastern dictators. This is America. No one can challenge us militarily. No one is coming to rescue these rioters.
So, why did we bomb the Middle East and destroy people’s homes and livelihoods for something that our country is presently doing to itself? Well, that’s simple. One, they have oil. Two, they tried giving central bankers the finger. Three, if you ask the average Republican or Democrat, Arabs aren’t actually people.
And what the hell happened to the virus? Is social distancing no longer important? Now that we have tens of millions of jobless and anxious people, is it time for another fake color revolution? The media is hardly saying a damn thing about the virus anymore. I guess Trump was right. I guess miracles do happen.
God, all of this feels so fucking fake and staged. What’s it covering up? What’s really going on, here?
