Read the Wiki page. There's clauses in there that allow the President to do it without governor's approval.

is there an end to this? this is like the 7th day of this shit. seriously people are getting tired of this shit.
They don't really seem to have a tangible goal for the riots, there are some demands for reforms to police departments. But if democrats really wanted those reforms to go through, they could do it overnight, like they did with preventing federal authorities from deporting criminal illegals.
I think the left/the dems are just going to ride the wave with this until it results in political changes that have nothing to do with BLM / or people wear themselves out.

Old Civil Rights leader/Freedom Rider (the guys who got beat by the KKK for exercising their civil liberties) rather angry rioters used a plaque commemorating another Civil Rights protestor he knew to smash the Nashville City Hall.

It's going to be interesting to see just how deep the cops are going to dive for information, location tracking data alone can be very good these days. Going to piss myself laughing if it goes deep and all these looters and rioters find out that they have been carrying a little snitch around in their pocket all this time.

It's typically pretty high level state prosecutors, federal judges, dhs, etc. etc. Can't say much as not to pl but the requests coming in from the Bronx were dhs. They're usually given the obvious things (Name, dob, ss#, address, authorized users, phone #s, aliases, page histories, blah blah). I doubt you'll see a noticeable amount of prosecution but the fun part is states and feds like to archive things the same as you autistics do. Good luck ever getting a job that doesn't qualify you for free trumpbux ever again or you get caught smoking a joint in a red state.

Hey, you ever wonder if AntiFA actually wants fascism?

Hmmm...
Fascism was named after the fasces, which is a bundle of sticks tied together.
Another name for a bundle of sticks is a faggot.
Antifa members are all faggots.
Therefore, Antifa members are bundles of sticks.
Therefore, Antifa members are the real fascists.

Your theory checks out.

Because its working
This has become an international movement, with nearly every powerful entity in the world backing it.
Plus they can just say they're not the ones doing the rioting, its white supremacists/antifa, and all the blacks that are rioting are only doing it because of white instigation
That's just China flexing. None of them care about black people in any real way.

It's liable to be a shitshow when he does it. The last time it was used was in 1992 for the LA Riots, and that was a contained event. This will apply to multiple states, numerous cities, and god knows what the body count is going to be like. Realistically, he can't invoke the Insurrection Act until it's become abundantly clear the state governments are completely incapable of restoring order. Are we at that point yet? Arguably, but it's going to be a difficult judgment call whenever he does it.

A large reason why Houston turned blue was due to the huge population transfer that happened after Hurricane Katrina in 2004. A large segment of people from New Orleans moved over into Houston and never went back. You can imagine the results. The thing that frustrates me the most about lefties flooding into Texas, however, (aside from turning the state blue) is the insane urban sprawl that Texas has now. DFW is one gigantic splotch of subdivisions, highways and parking lots - same for Austin and San Antonio, and now the gorgeous pastures of central Texas Hill Country are being devoured by retiring Cali and northern boomers because Florida is full. Huge swaths are getting eaten up by HOA's, McMansions with driveways that look wide and long enough to be airstrips (for their huge S.U.V.s and pickup trucks they never use to haul anything) and strip malls as far as the eye can see. Add on top of that the huge population of illegals in TX and it's putting a strain on everything. I hate having to drive through an hour's worth of suburbia and big-box outlets just to get to that old gorgeous Texan countryside, which will inevitably get torn up for gas wells and ranch LARPing boomers... sorry for the rant.

Alberta's the same way. I feel you fellow oil person!

There are plans for Black Lives Matter protests in Poland. Yes, a country that's 99% (though not exactly homogeneous).

I feel like all protests these days don't actually have set goals. The women's march was a march for equality, but they didn't exactly explain what they wanted to happen to have that equality and they weren't even unified in what they want. Part of the problem is nobody has any strong leaders.

The socialist party in Ireland is encouraging the solidarity protests and helping organise more, after they spent the past couple of months kicking up a stink about social distancing in workplaces and the rates of infection among healthcare workers and calling the government's plans to start lifting restrictions reckless.

:story:

If there is any upside to any of this it's that all these "protesters" will catch COVID19 and then they too will know how it feels not to be able to breathe.

If they make a movie about this it should be called "How to Lose the Moral High ground in 10 Days."

Trump won't lose any support over this. A lot of people think this is the pretty bow on his re-election. I'm inclined to agree.

so basically let continued destruction of property and threats of violence go on in multiple cities while Winnie the pooh in China mock us and leaving vulnerable people in multiple states at possible victim of further violence just so the dems can play a long game of chicken for an outcome that would be at this point inevitable. body count maybe high but property damage is higher.

Familiar enough to know that "absolute Failure" doesn't begin to cover it.

The thing is, when its just one city being an absolute trash dump, you can't invoke the Insurrection Act.Where as there is a much stronger argument to invoke it when its several states. Not a great argument, but not a bad one either.

That's not how any of this works. What "principles of Democracy"? Nobody voted for this, its just absolutely asinine to say what you just said.

those red spots above central west end is the ghetto. you have million dollar homes and then across the street is hood. Dipshits around here call it the delmar divide where all the blacks live north of delmar and all the rich whites and chiense live south. But that red grouping in the south is also the black ghetto. east past the river is east st.louis.

Because the cops are outnumbered, so they can’t arrest people unless they plan on getting themselves murdered. Especially since the “innocent” average person wandering in these riot areas innocently will likely start attacking the second a cop tries to arrest somebody.

This is why they’re stepping back and letting people riot. They know they’re outnumbered. There is no way to separate any one or two or thirty people from the rest of the mob. But don’t worry it’s just stuff, and an occasional small child that will get burned.

That makes sense, but then why aren't they deploying their NGs to help the cops, aside from them not necessarily being trained for riot control?

Not having tangible goals is a good thing, for stuff like this. Its like blaming all your issues on hidden trotskyists. You can rally your people up, get them motivated, but over nothing.
"We cannot rest until the trotskyists have been defeated" means never resting.
