Can these faggots please stop ignoring the massive amount of trans adults and elders that refer to themselves in this way? You can't tell a 60 year old granny tranny that she isn't allowed to say she became a woman. You have no business policing how people talk about themselves.
No, its not the actual trans people they're saying that too (because if they did they would be snapped at and suddenly break into earthquake typing and cry for an apology), but the dirty CIS authors who want to try and be inclusive like so many people ask them to be. CIS SCUM must conform to this specific person's I mean EVERY SINGLE TRANS PERSON'S narrative or they shall be branded as a heratic and beaten in the streets.

People like this are why so many authors are afraid of adding more diversity to their cast: the more "if you do this we will kill you" post they make, the more terrified new authors are of putting different minorities into their cast and stick to what they know. It's a vicious cycle of stupid that they accidentally perpetuate.

I hate the word "cis". It sounds stupid.

It's short fo cisgender, which is still utterly stupid. I was legit confused when I first saw that word being passed around, my first reaction was that it was some odd talk about people from the CIS countries, until I looked it up in the urban dictionary.

i am aware. I'm saying they're ignoring them while preaching their shit to the cis which they have no business doing because it is not universally true and is essentially if not to their faces, telling the elders they're wrong and just hate themselves.

I'm never ever ever going to write a trans character. Gay? Bi? Lesbian? Sure! But these people? Aw hell nah!
Just write the damn trans character as a human being with personality and you'll be fine. The more they bitch about it, the more meaningless the bitching becomes

if you're cisgender and make a trans character YOU HAVE TO DO IT THE WAY I SAY OR YOURE FUCKING RUDE!!!
Wonder what happens if someone with no gender at all popped up like a god or something, or Character A confused Character B for the opposite gender once but Character B is cisgender that has features that just happened to confuse Character A only once.

Thanks for the writing ideas!

You just described a trap.
I don't mean an actual trap, lets say Character B is a teenager woman, but flat in the chest (lets handwave this as a late bloomer or actual flat-chested woman) and has small hips. Character A meets her from the first time, and because teens are somewhat androgynous, thinks B is a male. B laughs and goes "I'm a girl", A goes "whoops", and they both laugh it off.
Feminine-ish males also exists

Reverse trap. A Bifauxnen. They exist.

Hi, guys! I've been lurking this thread for about two months now and just recently got an account on here so now I'm posting. You guys really cheer me up, so thanks for that.
I do have a couple things to post here, but I'm still thinking about the first one, so here's the second one- a sperg about a graphic novel adaptation of a book series I used to be obsessed with when I was younger. I just wondered, "Hey, what's up with that graphic novel adaptation?" one day and, well... I did find the result. (Also, yes, as you will see, I'm very much a girl.)

Back in the mid 2000s, the 80s-90s book series The Baby-Sitters Club ended up getting a graphic novel adaptation by Raina Telgemeier, which I enjoyed very much. For whatever reason, they decided to bring it back in the mid-2010s with a different illustrator and the difference couldn't be more obvious.

Here's the upcoming volume, done by Gale Galligan, who replaced Raina:

(Uh huh, I see you, hijab girl!)
Upon close inspection, it may not seem bad. Until you realize that in the original series, Logan wasn't brown...

Yeah. Logan, who was described in books as looking like a white 50s actor (I can't be bothered to remember who), has been race-lifted to be ambiguously brown. Why? Because straight white male bad (even if Logan has an interest in the "feminine" thing called baby-sitting).
What pisses me off most about this is why she's making an already diverse cast more diverse. It just doesn't make sense. The Baby-Sitters Club was one of the most diverse, eclectic cast in a kids' book series in the late 20th century. This is just redundant.
The diverse cast of the Baby-Sitters Club:
  • Kristy- a tomboy whose parents got divorced
  • Mary Anne-a shy bookworm with a single dad
  • Claudia- a Japanese girl who most likely had a learning disability
  • Stacey-a girl from New York with Diabetes
  • Dawn- a hippie from California
  • Mallory- a redhead with a large family
  • Jessi- a black girl with a passion for ballet
  • Abby- a Jewish girl with Asthma and a sister who I'm pretty sure broke her arm
  • And, of course, Logan.
Tell me your thoughts, I'd love to hear them. I'll admit that her art style is cute, but it still gives off that tumblr vibe with those wide bodies and round faces.

"They/she." Of-fucking-course. How can someone be non-binary and a girl at the same time, please let me know.
EDIT: I'm sure that if she started adaptating a bit earlier in the series she would've race-lifted more characters.

Good find, newbie. I never read those books or comics, but I'd seen the covers around and was wondering what the deal was with all that.

The best thing about this character is his origin story, which I'm surprised hasn't been REEE'D about since it was shown
So Superalloy was originally a Japanese kid who was bullied a lot for being weak. He buffs up over time and gets a lot of tanning etc done to highlight his new muscles. He was never a black guy in the first place

Thank you!! I was hoping it'd fit this thread.
Can I also add that a lot of the charicters especially Claudia and Dawn were shown to have medical conditions at the time (80s-90s) that we’re Never really portrayed in children’s media that often. Dawn was a diabetic and it was a huge plot point in the first few books as they were finding out , and overall they became more accommodating to her and her needs. Claudia was shown to have a learning disability and at the time Asians were still heavily stereotyped to be nerds and having Claudia just defy that was huge and show that anyone can have dyslexia despite any of the stereotypes put against them.

So they weren't diverse enough for a modern re-release?

Talk about moving goalposts.

It was Stacey that had diabetes. Thank you for explanation! How could I forget that Claudia had dyslexia too??

Is it too soon to post something palette-cleansing for Pride Month?
See this is the gay shit I wanna see not the garbage we usually see on this thread

That's this whole thread in a sentence. Art isn't fun anymore and political agreement is obligated or you're an -ist and -phobe.
I'm just muting people until this fiasco is over to at least keep things fun and calm cuz I'm already on the edge from lockdown.

Also, I've noticed a lot of Kiwi Pride avatars. It's nice to know that there's a mix of backgrounds coming together to laugh at SJW crap, the people they claim to represent.
Me too I still find it so hilarious that people outside the farms think were all white/cis/male you guys actually changed my mind on a few things and gave very helpful art advice
