U.S. Riots of May 2020 over George Floyd and others - ITT: a bunch of faggots butthurt about worthless internet stickers

I honestly expect this to last only a few more days, a week tops. I can’t wait for this to end, then never be talked about again as we move on the next thing. The sad reality is, for as much destruction caused, it will probably just end up another Twitter controversy till we replace it with a stupid thing a YouTuber said

That is the thing about Americans, they get really excited/outraged about something quickly. Do all kinds of stupid self destructive shit, and then completely forget about it a week later. As long as the individual isnt directly bothered, its like it never even happened.

So really Trump could just drop a nuke on every major city and as long as someone is left to pump out media for distraction everyone that's left will just be really fucking excited for the next season of their favorite shows and vidja for their PS5.

Yet social media will still be bombarded with "sympathy" posts.
It's why most people should leave it at "I support BLM and wish them all the best.", and that's only if they actually mean it. No unnecessary hashtags, no virtue signaling, and no hypocrisy. After being told by so many times that I just 'don't get it' by POC, I've stopped giving anything but a "good luck", because it won't be appreciated.

I agree, except Trump is absolutely one of them. If not, they would have given him the Kennedy treatment by now. The left/right divide exists only to give people hope that they can do something as insignificant as vote and get real change. Granted, you get a few crumbs thrown your way for voting for a particular side (ex: Dems got gay marriage, Repubs got part of a wall built), but on the big issues it is surprising that no matter how much one side rails against the interests of the rich or globalism or open borders, by their actions they support it. It is all theater at this point.
Interesting you said that.

Yesterday, somebody ranted and asked me why hasn't Trump been assassinated yet?

Can you imagine the social collapse that would happen if the President was assassinated?

I don't believe Trump is as "anti establishment" as people would say.

I suspected the dude who was tweeting was fake merely by the fact you don't get twisted up like a fucking pretzel and tweet about it a couple of hours later. The shameless dicksucking of BLM afterwards kind of sealed it for me. I find it hard to believe someone beaten that badly would come out of it thinking that they were in the wrong.
You can't fix the ideologues who have been fed self-hate and taken it to heart. I wouldn't be surprised if he donates to the NAACP tomorrow because he's so, so sorry, and that he was asking for it by operating a business within jogger proximity.

I get that, but I just wasn’t expecting my otherwise sane, conservative brother-in-law to suddenly be cool with it.

Maybe I should have expected it, but holy shit I’m still blown away with how much the phrase “cities can be rebuilt, lives can’t” has gained traction given how it doesn’t stand up to any kind of moral or logical scrutiny whatsoever. Motherfucker, people are still dying. From the riots. People are gonna die and starve and descend into poverty and crime orders of magnitude worse than whatever small gains hope to be made.

I’m less surprised that “cities can be rebuilt” typically comes out of the mouth of people who have never built anything in their fucking lives. Same for “but the stores are insured...” even from people who as adults ostensibly understand how money works and have maybe even interacted with an insurance company at some point. The stores are not coming back, and everyone who owned it or worked there just had their lives ruined to the point where even a fat insurance payout (that by the way is not guaranteed and will suck up a depressing amount of their lives to fight for) is not going to fix it.

I shouldn’t have to face flak for simply pointing out the fact that if we excuse this shit and champion destruction as an appropriate reaction, then that’s all we’re ever going to get. And we don’t even have the luxury of it stopping even if everything collapses.
We used to hang criminals for stealing a horse.
Why?
Because property is stored life-energy. If you steal the means to propagate life, you steal life.

Shoot to kill. Defend your property.

To be fair, this is coming directly after at least and a month and a half of “anyone who wants to reopen the economy cares more about money than lives” circlejerking, from people who were also ignoring the fact that people do need to have jobs in order to pay their bills. Same shit, different happening.

I find it interesting that there's all these international protests in places like Holland and shit, when the Dutch dabbled in the slave trade,
I know this is over 10 pages ago but this thread moves at lightning speed and I'm still trying to catch up. The thing about the Dutch protests is that you've already had black(Usually Suriname) dutch people holding protests over Black Pete the holiday figure in recent months, so it's basically the same people taking these american protests as a reason to start their protests up again to show solidarity.

I wonder how many of the "Defund/dismantle the police, we'll protect our own neighbourhoods in peace and harmony!" types are also crying about Latin Kings right now?

Are they really so fucking stupid they havent put two and two together and realized this is what their demands being met looks like or is it just the power of doublethink?

Just because he had fentanyl in his system doesn't mean he was willingly taking fentanyl. Most addicts are scared of fentanyl, especially now and would not take something if they knew it was Fent. Fentanyl is so strong, so cheap and so abundant unscrupulous dealers are putting it in everything, not just heroin. Even fake Xanax pills can be cut with Fentanyl. That's how Lil Peep died.

Edit: damnit ninjad by oslowantoe.
Possibility of him walking free and suing the city for millions.

"The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) predicts Chauvin will evade punishment unless charges are revised to first- or second-degree murder. “Third Degree Murder applies only when the acts of the defendant were committed without regard to their effect on any particular person, and not when the actions were directed to a specific person,” said ACLU Minnesota in a statement. “Minnesota courts have repeatedly ruled that to support a charge of Third Degree Murder, the offender’s actions need to be ‘eminently dangerous to more than one person.’ This has been the law in Minnesota since 1896 and includes numerous State Supreme Court decisions stretching all the way to the present saying the same thing.”
