CDPR didn't produce the Netflix show. The original author of the Witcher books, Andre Sapkowski, sold out to Netflix because he was mad at CDPR because they wouldn't give him more money. He signed a contract in the 90s for $10k cash up front, turning down their offer of a % deal on profits/merch. So the games made tens of millions while he made only a couple mil (the books sold well worldwide, mainly because of the games), then he tried suing CDPR for 18 million euros because he made a bad decision. They told him to fuck off. So he went to Netflix. The game studio has nothing to do with the show, they were much more faithful to the author's original work than Netflix. But he sucks off Netflix and calls it the best thing ever because they drowned him in cash.

I know this is autistic, but I really like the Witcher games and books and I don't like seeing CDPR blamed for the shitty Netflix adaptation.

White liberals all think they’re fucking Atticus Finch in “To Kill A Mockingbird” and have no actual conception of how bad they fuck up the country and the black community by enabling bad behavior. White people and the police didn’t make you beat your kids. White people and the police didn’t make you do drugs. White people and the police didn’t make you walk out on your baby mama. And yet it’s somehow our fault that black people cant get their shit together after 150 years of freedom. We fought a civil war to free these people and they can’t give even a little bit of gratitude for that sacrifice. Maybe Lincoln had the right idea of shipping the freed slaves back to Africa.

I thought they killed themselves because Jim Jones went crazy, was addicted to drugs, and though the US was going to kill everyone in Jonestown over Jones killing the Senator. The Government would have just taken Jones into custody. He was already getting addicted to drugs while in SanFran.

The reason most people died was because Jones had a milita with guns surround the camp, so people were forced to drink the kool aid. A lot of people were arguing with Jones before the suicide about going to Russia or somewhere else (see the FBI death tape). Arguing not kill each other and end what they build. Most people where happy in Jonestown. Only a few wanted out. But Jones had abandonment issues from when he was a kid and so took anyone leaving really personally.

why do companies always seem to do the same format for announcments involving disasters. for covid they all just said "in these uncertain times" without saying what those times were (obviously the lockdown but 5 years from now it will sound weird) like we were in on some in joke. now they have a message about letting important voices be heard and then the company logo.

He feels other people's problems are not his problem and no one has a right to anything besides freedom from government and their policing.

On either side of the political spectrum, I just don't get anarchy. I mean if you are a dumb and idealistic 19 year old who never put any serious thought into the very likely negative repercussions of it, ok fine. But him and his buddies are in their 40s and should know better. Even most libertarians I know say that riot and insurrection control are one of the few legitimate reasons for having a government and should be used sparingly and only when necessary. Here is a clear cut case for them because they know the people they are dealing with are private property hating extreme leftists and common criminals. The further right ones say to crush it with your own militas. But doing nothing is for the sake of ideological purity is not really an option.

I think neighborhood policing depends on your neighborhood. Mine it would likely work fine. But in others, it would probably devolve into them shooting each other for control or feuding. Your mileage may vary.

It would probably be better for the American economy if we did pay to get rid of them by sending them somewhere else. Just think, not as many people driving up student debt and less people on welfare.
