The border between the Dominican Republic and Haiti can be seen from space. The Haitians cut down all of the the trees on their side while the Domincans were more forward thinking. Thus the Dominicans still have Hispaniola's biodiversity as a tourist attraction while Haitians are literal dirt farmers.
