TGWTG Linkara / Lewis Lovhaug - HMMMMMMM? (Dead Gay Muppet Gangbang)

I thought Linkara agreed that early Lightbringer sucked.

Then again, all this new info shows him to be incredibly two-faced, so maybe he just said that to shut up the "haters".

And to think that I kind of liked Linkara at one point. Now I just... ugh.

... Well, his introduction of Snowflame to a wider audience is at least something in his favor.

There seems to be quite a bit of drama and douchiness going on at the site lately, most of it centering on Mike Michaud, the company's CEO. Apparently he's been alienating a lot of the reviewers, especially the women. He fired Lupa over a minor incident, which caused her boyfriend Phelous to quit in disgust which I find pretty awesome. Several other reviewers quit around the same time.

Slightly off topic, but I digress. 5-6 years ago I used to really enjoy a lot of 'youtube' content. Everything from AVGN, TGWTG, Spoony, Linkara, Silent Rob..etc etc. I actually remember having a particularily nasty bout of the stomach flu and spent a week just watching videos from these people non-stop. It was good times. Now it seems every single content creator I enjoyed eventually submitted to having an overblown ego, or their true personalities came out and now I barely pay attention to them because of it.

To extend upon this point there were even smaller guys and girls making youtube videos that I really enjoyed, then they either got bored or life got in the way, or it just was not profitable. It seems like not even that long ago people made youtube content for fun, to entertain people. Now it is all about making a living off of it, which has kind of killed it for me personally. The infamous Linkara Adblock video essentially summarizes my feelings on the matter.

The only exception I have seen is Aqualung. For a guy who has been doing the exact same thing for a very long time it is ironic that he is such a breath of fresh air.

Makes me sad.

I remember whe I was a kid and read a Simpson Comic about Bart and Lisa doing stupid shit in Public Broadcasting and having their friends to do shitty shows that dominated the ratings of Springfield. The story ends with losing inspiration and one show bought by a big broadcasting company only after the fad ended. Pretty sure there is an actual South Park episode with similar premise (the School News one, I think).

What I want to say is, that shit is comming from a mile away. I only hoped that the critics/personalities that I like(d) where smarter (having second jobs or finishing school, trying new things without being half assed, joining a competent enterteiment company, refuse to pretend that their web films or sketches are good, acting like the "angry critic" perpetually IRL).

This. As more and more negative stories come out about Linkara and Cinema Snob, it makes watching past videos of theirs less and less fun for me as well.

Not to derail this Linkara thread I dedicated a thread specifically to my point in this post: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/youtube-internet-washouts.8953/

I wondering just how bad his comic Revolution of the Mask is? I mean the art is kind of decent but if the writing anything like his story-lines or his webcomic there no way it would be worth paying actual money for.

From what I hear, it's V for Vendetta, except the characters all reference comic books instead of film, theater, classical music, history, etc.

I've read the first few free pages and it wants to be 1984-meets-superheroes, but he misses some points in his world-building. Also, one of the characters is a complete rip-off of Rorschach.
