It's true. These are armchair activists and opportunistic looters. The moment it becomes even slightly uncomfortable (pushback from cops or armed owners/residents, tear gas, rain, etc.) they scatter like cockroaches and abandon their efforts. Plus it's hard to carry those shiny/glossy TV boxes home by hand when they're wet.
