Home school. It's not literally just you, usually it is a small network of families that share responsibility. We need as many home schooling families as possible, it's an imperative. The more there are the more support we all will have.

It's hard when you both need to work, but I can see how there may be no other option. Maybe we can make it work in a few years, well see.

My current plan is to do my best to talk to them about what they're being taught, help them learn to think about why they're being taught it, what facts could change their interpretation, and ask if/why they agree with the opinions, as well as to teach them to recognize emotional manipulation/abuse and set boundaries. Journaling to record what they believe and why, and notice when/why it changes. But I can't shake a sinking feeling that it's all hopeless when complete lies are being blasted in schools, phones, everywhere you look, completely unchallenged. I can do my best to point that out I guess.

Also, Robert E. Lee was opposed to the idea of Confederate monuments in the first place because he didn't want the Civil War to get romanticized/ didn't want Southerners holding onto their grievances forever. Well, wasn't that the case with the plastics used with water bottles in the last year or so? Something about it being dozens times more toxic than previously thought? Outside of chemicals, I wouldn't be surprised if the internet (or perhaps the more social media-ish aspects of it) is seen as some failed project in the future, having made some sort of Stanford prison experiment type example of human nature.

there was some study a while back, on internet use among youth and its effect on mental development. the result was that video gaming resulted in slightly increased mental abilities in some regards, while social media use had the opposite effect of significantly dumbing users down. i can't remember where i read it though
