U.S. Riots of May 2020 over George Floyd and others - ITT: a bunch of faggots butthurt about worthless internet stickers

It was the FALN that I remember them sheltering. You know, while the FALN were assassinating cops and bombing restarants.

You're right. Looks like it was a branch of the FALN. Paul Moore, the progressive bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York at the time, tried to quash the FBI from looking into what they were doing, alongside some radical lawyers the FALN had hired. But this was apparently a bit of a schism between that particular branch and the national-level organization of that sect.

Chauvin has also been charged with manslaughter. The full list:

Charge: Second Degree Murder - Unintentional - While Committing A Felony
Minnesota Statute: 609.19.2(1)
Maximum Sentence: Imprisonment of not more than 40 years.
Offense Level: Felony

Charge: Third Degree Murder - Perpetrating Eminently Dangerous Act and Evincing Depraved Mind
Minnesota Statute: 609.195(a)
Maximum Sentence: Imprisonment of not more than 25 years.
Offense Level: Felony

Charge: Second Degree Manslaughter - Culpable Negligence Creating Unreasonable Risk
Minnesota Statute: 609.205(1)
Maximum Sentence: Imprisonment of not more than 10 years, or payment of a fine of not more than
$20,000, or both.
Offense Level: Felony

None of these actually require an intent to kill. The third degree murder is a depraved heart murder statute, which despite the word "murder," also doesn't require intent to kill or even to harm, although it requires intentionally committing an "eminently dangerous act" (which in this case would be kneeling on someone's throat for a lengthy period of time).

As compared to the forensic evidence supplied by the autopsy report, these charges seem a tad shaky, though again I'm a layman, not a lawyer giving this opinion.

1. Murder 2 has some potential legs if they can prove the officer acted in a grossly unprofessional matter that would not fall under appropriate measures to secure the detainment of a fugitive and instead came off more like the cop in question acting like a sadist.

2, Murder 3 is pure opinion and they'd have to convince the jury the defendant wasn't keeping in mind his professional conduct requirements during the execution of his duty. Might actually stick, but's it's basically a charge that requires selling the jury on the merits more on emotion than evidence.

3. Manslaughter 2 is the one I least buy. Unprofessional conduct is more possible than proving the defendant was so amoral they knew what they were doing and just didn't care if someone died. Forensics also would make this hard to put some stock into, given none of the physical damage was shown to be life threatening on it's own.

Is there any consensus here about what is going on? I know blue collar people who theorize about the pallets of bricks. They don't lurk kiwifarms, it's not just you guys. I know white collar people forced to sign contracts about their privilege and marginalized people and how they understand how painful it is to misgender someone. They're afraid if they speak their mind then they'll ruin their careers. I just witnessed corporations rewarding people for burning down their own communities. Is this just a bunch of unemployable 19 year olds who think it would be lots of fun to take down the 1st ammendment or is it some shadowy organization infiltrating government and corporate America at the highest levels? This shit has just gotten too fucking weird. I feel like I'm in The Body Snatchers and any moment my blue collar friends are going to switch sides and call me out.

Western countries like Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Finland [i.e. the most übermensch of all the Nords. Except for Finns who are Germanized Mongols and far more based than their Scandi-cuck neighbors] are all doing just fine without active religiosity being a major part of their culture. The current problems afflicting the US obviously have a different cause than the decline of Christianity, and it's pretty obvious what those causes are.

If Coronavirus doesn't peak in 2 weeks, I'm genuinely going to be sad.
Is that really what we'd want though? If numbers spike again once the current shitshow ebbs away then that just gives all the Little Hitlers the excuse to throw the country into full lockdown all over again. And no, nobody will question the absolute hypocrisy of allowing (if not aggressively encouraging) millions to flood the cities in "protest" only to whip back around to the lockdown rhetoric because this past week alone has established the population at large is beyond brainwashed and will go along with whatever the leftist zeitgeist tells them to no matter what.

It's the new McCarthyism, except buildings are being burnt down and you might get called racist.

We don't have any 'Little Hitlers' and if we did, this thread would've never had to exist.

Any attempt at a second shutdown would lead to people flaunting the law, and I don't think the police would enforce it -- especially not after most of the departments have gotten pegged with spiked dildos by their mayors and governors. This is no doubt what will be -attempted-, as continued economic collapse is fertile soil for a revolution, but bear in mind that lockdowns affect more than just the cities full of opportunists and rich kids rich in white guilt.

Driving down to my grandparents now where the "peaceful" protest will happen today in Michigan. Gonna take them out of town for the day or stay with them if they don't wanna. I'm coming prepared. If anything happens, I'll try to upload stuff to here.

Please use a gun, bows and swords have been proven not to work very well a few hundred pages back.

I dunno how more dramatic you can get than a tattooed lesbian shitting on a police car while people cheer.

The current problems afflicting the US obviously have a different cause than the decline of Christianity, and it's pretty obvious what those causes are.

Societies depend upon the existence of an intersubjective consensus. If people are able to put aside their differences and work together for the greater good of themselves and their society, then society is able to function. If divisions become so great that this is no longer possible, then society breaks down. The US is clearly falling into the latter category, and there are many reasons for this: urban ghettoization, unresolved racial tension, deindustrialization and it's resulting structural unemployment/poverty, the broken windows approach to crime and education, the growing economic divide in America, etc.

Christianity could experience a huge resurgence in the United States, and it would do absolutely nothing to address the problems which led to the current situation. If anything, it would merely placate people; turning their focus inwards while their society is burning around them.

I don't know if it's that dramatic, but it seems undeniable at this point that the United States is in serious decline, both relatively, and now, possibly in absolute terms as well. People are quick to blame Trump, and he is definitely a catalyst, but really, the ultimate blame should fall upon the entrenched ineffectiveness of the political system that surrounds him. Without that, Trump would never have been elected.

The real question is whether or not the political will exists in America for the system to fundamentally change, and unfortunately, this appears doubtful. I think America is strong enough to avoid a collapse, but I fear it might be optimistic to expect much more than a managed decline.

Christianity has left it's mark on Europe, but to pretend that it still exerts an active influence in Western society outside the United States and Eastern Europe is completely mistaken. I live in Western Europe, and I can tell you that Christianity has practically no relevance here anymore. For 99% of the population, church attendance is limited to weddings and funerals, and Cathedrals are practically museums at this point.

You could equally say that Greek and Roman culture has had a lasting impact on Western society (which it has), but I think you'd struggle to find anyone today who believes in Zeus.
"Western countries like Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Finland"
Nigga you know 3/4 of countries mentioned has Christianity instated as state religion.

Those of you worried about the millennials filtering into politics more and more might take comfort from what became of the flower children - 1968 was followed, after all, by the 70s and 80s. The age of the internet and "believe everything you read as long as it agrees with you" might ding that, but I doubt it. Most radicals weren't actually so committed, and upon getting older just quietly pretended they'd never played a part in anything. In the US, the more dedicated ones either filtered into academia or became neocons. In Europe, best as I can tell, a lot of the Green parties spring up as a result of the student movements and get absorbed into fairly mainstream positions over time.

Meanwhile, those communities that were egged on into rioting by those good, proud progressives languish for decades in squalor, bereft of capital, of jobs, of talent, and of futures -- geeze, no wonder the white saviors of the day would desperately try to forget they did any advocating once the fever high wore off. How interesting it'll be to have everything recorded on the internet for posterity, this time around.

My only worry is that the rise of social media and nothing being truly gone online will force people to stick to "their guns" more. Back then you could move towns or quietly change social circles and no one knew a thing about you so you could just comfortably shift out. In this diseased age of being doxxed or fired for things you said online over a decade ago I worry that people are more entrenched into their beliefs and echo-chambers. You have to toe the party line and as long as everyone shackles themselves to social media like many do you can't easily openly change your beliefs or phase yourself out, and people have an investment in keeping you in. The social media dopamine drug is also something worrisome. They can stop using social media but it's been so ingrained into millennials and zoomers at this point I worry they won't kick the habit. Even if they stop believing or never believed in a cause or idea genuinely in the first place, social media and it's desire to expose yourself means you'll keep to the script if you want to keep your head down.

So you're saying Trump is the problem and not the hundreds of idealistic and anarchy-obsessed tards running amok? Trump is just a regular mediocre politician who everyone pretends is Hitler 2.0 to justify their faggotry. All Trump did was expose the worst in an already fucked up society that's buttmad that they couldn't get what they want because "muh electoral college ruined democracy". Now they're going crazy like a bunch of mongoloids and spoiled manchildren because they couldn't get what they want and are using the unjust death of a porn actor to enforce their desires via terrorism.

Exactly this. Unlike in the past, the internet will keep the flames of anger and idealism alive with no time for cooldown. If anything I expect to see more riots here and elsewhere while more people become extremists.
