Dont know the legality of this. Can the feds just deny and tell a state to go fuck itself in events like this?

I personally agree to an extent with what you're saying - massacres and terrorist incidents simply vilify us in the eyes of the public much like wanton rioting vilifies these people in the eyes of some, and won't provide us with any path to institutional or systematic power..but, then again, what does? Democratic pandering and appealing to the political process essentially gets us nowhere as well, too many gatekeepers of an institution far too old to be infiltrated like that. So, I personally see where the militarism comes from as well: an exhaustion with the political process and it's stagnation and a desire for action. Neither path is getting us anywhere, which just creates more frustration with the process.

The only good thing to come out of this is that people know for certain that the COVID lockdowns are over and can start going back to regular life over it. You can't simultaneously endorse chimpouts/protesting and social distancing.
