That's the problem. Those are all just bones they throw at the communities, when their actual issues are severely complex and substantially internal. The goodwill that especially white liberals (but really, liberals of any stripe that are well removed from this struggle) express to these hurting communities are superficial and solve precisely none of their problems. They're disproportionately affected by poverty, starvation, violence, single motherhood, incarceration, poor education, and so on. Things like welfare overdependence and poor attitudes towards education and being educated perpetuate these issues.
None of this is solved by just saying "I agree with that" when there's an uproar over merely one of those issues. None of this is solved by lowering the bar for black people, actually putting them in jeopardy of being accused of not putting in the work that anyone else would have needed to-- it doesn't even matter if they can't even reach where these "special privileges" are. None of it is solved by putting a black (or... black-coded) character in a children's cartoon that's watched by way too many adults. None of it is solved by making segregation spaces for black people, and then lumping them with other ethnicities that also have some level of disdain for them (and vice versa).
It involves introspection, and understanding that the situation that many such communities are in are abnormal, tragic, and unnatural-- and working to ameliorate that situation from the inside out. And if you have issues of police brutality, then you address that, but you address that along with everything else. But the voices that speak out against all those things and try to do something about all those things at best have a local reach-- nobody catches on, nobody pays attention or nationally signal boosts those initiatives because by the time they spend the energy they do on studying the complex of issues plaguing the African-American community, they not only realize that much of it is cultural, but they've also spent all the energy they could use to get mad and burn down buildings in the name of "the revolution"-- that doesn't make them feel good. That doesn't absolve them from their acute awareness of their white privilege, or their green privilege (if they happen to be nonwhite but still well-to-do).
So, the Democrats don't care-- actually, they want them to be like that, as far as I can tell, since many of these major cities have the same issues with their black communities and are also Democrat-run. And the Republicans don't exactly know the first thing about black people, since they don't pander to them.

Various legal kiwis: because of the high-profile nature of this case(global attention), can the officers expect all the top law firms in the country fighting for the windfall of defending any of these 4 officers charged in the Floyd arrest pro bono? I assume it's desirable to be associated with the case no matter which side you're on, especially if you end up getting one or some of them off charges or greatly reduced, like free advertising.

I didn't mind his speech but I rolled my eyes at that, he's going to get MORE roles and praise for this shit, not less. I have no idea why he feels that way or if he's being honest about feeling that way. Maybe he felt he had to remind people of this HUGE risk he was taking saying what literally everyone else has been saying and repeating for DAYS.
