I don't know what to say 06/04/20 - "not at the beginning stage"

I am bothered by the way she found out. Did she say she got a call? I believe her reaction is 100% real, and she is in a panic, but in my experience, they don't call you and tell you that you have cancer. It is really nerve wracking, but usually you have to wait for an in-person visit with the surgeon for results, even if it is benign. If anyone else has any insight to this, please enlighten me.

Phone calls are the most common medium for cancer diagnoses (in the U.S.)

Edit to add: 60% of breast cancer diagnoses take place via the phone https://www.healthleadersmedia.com/clinical-care/how-deliver-cancer-diagnoses-phone-calls

As mean and cynical as it sounds, Becky would be better of in the long run if Amber dies. That would force Becky to work for a living and lose weight, and find a less toxic girlfriend. Maybe deep in her white trash brain she realizes that and secretly feels relieved.

As for Amber's diagnosis... Well, color me surprised. I'm not feeling glad that she's dying, but not sad either.

Lmao. Where exactly is she supposed to work? She’s been unemployed for years. Her resume is empty. She has no education or skills. It’s extremely hard to find a job when you have no relevant recent work experience. Pretty much the only jobs available to people in her situation are the most menial physical labor, which she can’t do because she’s fat as fuck and extremely out of shape. What’s she gonna do? Work as a cashier? There’s no way she can stand for hours on end. Work in a warehouse? Those people walk miles every day and have to be fast. Fast food? Again, you have to be physically fit and move your ass fast.

I mean....whether you hate her or not, it's hard to not have empathy for someone you've been giggling at for years.

I hope she get's better. It sucks that something as serious as cancer had to be her wake up call for her health.

I strongly believe that this wake up call is almost too late. As I and many others have mentioned before, if she get through this alive, it will be devastating for her.

(Sorry if I'm stating stuff which other have already had posted, the thread is exploding)

I'm not saying Amberlynn is lying or is purposely being deceptive in this case, but she has a history of both, complete with histrionics. Also, she isn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier, so she could be misinterpreting everything and anything that the doctor said to her.

I too hate to be that shitty person, but it all boils down to details. Again, she has a history. I do hope she can remain well and get proper treatment, if necessary. She is too young, but it's not like the haydurs haven't been warning her about this for 5 years. Especially about getting health insurance and regular doctor care. Maybe now she'll take things seriously and hopefully it isn't too late. :(

I definitely thought it was some hormonal shit relating to periods because her whole body is so fucked up. I also didn't really wanna think it could be this. Someone in my family had cancer so I remember well how it looms dark over a household. Really tough facing mortality like that. I wonder how gorl will motivate herself to fight. Becky is really being hit from all sides with this disease. Since I don't know anything at all about this cancer. I quickly googled and it says obesity could be a reason as you already know. I wonder if amber really did this to herself. Probably.

Al filmed this almost as soon as she got her results, as evidenced by stupid snap/insta posts shortly before. She's panicked and nearly incoherent..also, she's dumb as a box of rocks. I'm gonna withhold any conclusions til we have more info. The possibility that she's not understanding what's happening is too high.
Once she calms down we'll get a better idea of how this is gonna go.

E: Ninja'd by lots of people :(

You are totally right, before everyone opens their hearts and sympathies to Amber, we should all take a deep breath and just wait and see what happens.

This. In my experience I’ve seen people assume they have terminal cancer because the phrases “pre-cancerous” or, “it leads to cancer“ or even “some cancerous cells“ were found. People get absolute tunnel vision and all they hear is CANCER CANCER CANCER. Given AL reaction I’m not sure what the doctor said but as soon as he uttered the word cancer a five alarm panicked started in her brain.

She said she had “womb and uterine cancer“ ffs - they are one in the same! Uterus equal womb. AL obviously doesn’t understand a lot and with Becky’s mom having metastic liver cancer (which is the real “you gonna die” big C cancer) I think she went from 0 to 1000000 and has no real clue what’s going on but she is now as terminal ill as Becky’s mom in her mind now.

On the flip side - she’s been ignoring shit for years, did start bleeding like a stuck pig and her weight has skyrocketed her estrogen which can fuel these female organ cancers. It could very well be quit serious. Uterine, cervical and ovarian cancers tend to have very few noticable symptoms until they are quite far along - which is why annual paps are so important because you don’t get bad symptoms until it’s really far gone.

Shes really fucked on insurance. Medicaid ain’t an option unless she gets rid of her YT income or totally demonetizes her channel it, even a GFM would be bad for her. It was the terrible irony for many Americans that they would have to quit their jobs if they got seriously ill and had no or crap insurance. The choice was bankrupted by medical bills or quit, lose everything and then they could apply, get Medicaid then be covered.

Bad situation all around because they need to act quick to figure out where the cancer is and isn’t, then surgery and maybe chemo. A simple hysterectomy costs about $60k in the USA with no overnight hospital stay. Amber better figure out a plan fast because no hospital is going to go out of their way to get a non-covered, broke patient treated.

So basically, nearly a third of women in Amber's age group die (EDIT: Or not, I think my statistics are all fuckered and that's just 0.4% of all deaths, which are only like 20% of all cases of uterine cancer... EDIT 2: see below). Many cancers found in young people tend to be more aggressive and fast growing than the ones found in people in their 50s and 60s. Which is why your grandma survived breast cancer with some radiation or a mastectomy, but your 27 year old friend died of it after years of chemo.

Stage I: The cancer is found only in the uterus or womb, and it has not spread to other parts of the body.
  • Stage IA: The cancer is found only in the endometrium or less than one-half of the myometrium.
  • Stage IB: The tumor has spread to one-half or more of the myometrium.
Stage II: The tumor has spread from the uterus to the cervical stroma but not to other parts of the body.

Stage III: The cancer has spread beyond the uterus, but it is still only in the pelvic area.
  • Stage IIIA: The cancer has spread to the serosa of the uterus and/or the tissue of the fallopian tubes and ovaries but not to other parts of the body.
  • Stage IIIB: The tumor has spread to the vagina or next to the uterus.
  • Stage IIIC1: The cancer has spread to the regional pelvic lymph nodes.
  • Stage IIIC2: The cancer has spread to the para-aortic lymph nodes with or without spread to the regional pelvic lymph nodes.
Stage IV: The cancer has metastasized to the rectum, bladder, and/or distant organs.
  • Stage IVA: The cancer has spread to the mucosa of the rectum or bladder.
  • Stage IVB: The cancer has spread to lymph nodes in the groin area, and/or it has spread to distant organs, such as the bones or lungs.

Basically, if 100,000 people get uterine cancer and 1.5 percent of them are in her age group, that's 1,500.

Then if 20 percent of all cases die (20,000) and 0.4 percent of them are in her age group, that's 80.

80 is 5.3 percent of 1,500. So actually, she's got a pretty good chance!
:optimistic:

(There are three kinds of lahs: lahs, damn'd lahs, and statistics...)

I am shocked! I don't want to PL, and i am just fine now, but my experience was much different, so I made assumptions. I don't know what is better : getting that phone call or waiting another week to get the news in person. Anyway, it makes sense that Amber would get a call considering she had no medical system established, too. She didn't get that time to really think about a positive dx because her route was ER- surgery-results, rather than tests or suspicion-result- biopsy- more results- treatment plans etc.
