Eh, the last time the "Geeks" had the ability to command high-tier pay from IT work was the late 90's - early 00's, when furry autism was, not incidentally, at it's height with dozens of competing cons/websites being fed as vanity projects by techie types. Since then, the dot.com collapse and outsourcing of tech work rapidly making email administration grunt work you can hire a pajeet to do, the community has kinda polarized between a small minority of wealthy and bored trust fund kids who are looking for a way to virtue signal their sexual non-conformity in parallel with supporting all the right woke causes (The peak of this probably being that one social media mod who thinks he (she) is also a deer....) and a huge underclass of pathetic, fat, basement-dwelling couch-surfing lowlifes who blow every single spare buck they have on art commissions of their shitty OCs and dreaming of the day they finally find that bored-trust-fund-kid- sugar-daddy who'll buy them their very own fursuit.
