That "Why is ending RACISM so controversial?" sign gets me. Just the combination of oversimplyfying, having no idea what anyone's problem actually is, and summing it up as something the vast majority of people wouldn't disagree with.
Is there a term for that logical fallacy? (I mean aside from "stupid".) It's somewhere between a loaded question and gaslighting. I see it an awful lot.
You mean the motte-and-bailey? You start with something simple, i.e. racism is bad
Then you move to something more extreme, we have to limit rights to stop racism
And when people attack that particular part you fall back, "don't you agree that racism is bad?"
