The study didn't mention inexperienced participants, it's about the attitudes of those of greater general intelligence vs. those with lesser. The ultimate findings boil down to how those who are generally dumber have a more cock-sure attitudes on their opinions, refusing to consider why others would say and think the things they do. Higher intelligence was seen in those with self-doubt, that look to challenge what they already knew.
