I mean, would you want to re-open a store in a neighborhood that evidently has high crime, low police presence, and not much else? Insurance rates will go up, the community will be poorer (just wait until you see the totals for property damage), and you're not going to exactly have the healthiest pool of employees. Yeah, big companies have the resources to reopen, but why would they?Small businesses have more to lose, less money to rebuild, and have an emotional tie to their store. I would feel slapped in the face if my store was closed down. I would think it’s less likely they open back up than big stores. If big stores are leaving they are truly fucked.
