Also, what justice, because last I checked there has already been FAR more done for the cause than there should have. The cops involved have been reprimanded, their department burned. You know how you bring down these protests? You reveal it to be a black supremacist movement. These reparations they want are only for “former slaves” which happen to be exclusively black. Should ask Latinos how they would feel paying 41k per member of their family to black people (13.7 trillion divided by 330 million). This idea that black people “built” this country is absurd. Slavery was going to become unprofitable and be abolished before the invention of the cotton-gin. The best part of this is that the reparations would go to all black people and not just descendants of slaves (Somalis and African immigrants). Nah, Fredericksburg public schools are full of trash and hoodlums. Anyone respectable who lives in the area has money and their kids have never set foot in a non-private/non-parochial school anyway. Fredericksburg is uniquely fucked since no one with means has to live there when they can easily live in northern VA, the semi-rural countryside, or in the nice suburbs of Richmond instead.

This is pretty distressing. Someone said there's no way the US would ever remove the police force and I kind of agree but this kind of discourse does two things. First it puts on the table the concept of cops being removed which is a huge shift in the overton window on law. Second it firmly puts their foot in the door if police were ever to be removed. It essentially states that a government body isn't valid unless it constitutes members not just from their particular political agenda, but from their private political community.
In my tardschizo /pol/ opinion this is an attempt to overthrow the USA by a privately funded group. Maybe not right now but setting the stage for future insurrections. To go further tardschizo it's interesting that documentaries about elite pedophiles are more distributed than ever and a member of the Clinton dynasty is fighting with the court about private messages. Any ancoms who think looting a footlocker will defeat the trailer park racists is straight fucked in the head. They're setting the precedent for laws and elections to be held based on how angry the people will get, not the majority populous, but the people bought and sold for social media clout. I was on our emergency EMS team for events like this, basically a reserve force they'd bring in when things are emergent. They've been very evasive answering deployment areas and functions, a couple of us are no longer working with them.

I would never want to put myself in a crowd that hates me for colluding with police, especially when I'd be there to treat them. At best I'm just gettin' yelled at and spit on, at worst they pick a fight with me and try to sue me. It's not worth doin' the right thing.

FWIW medics and techs get it drilled into them early on that they cannot become a casualty. They won't do anything unless cops are there backing them up and they're in public where they can be protected. Hell, they've had the pence rule for thirty years in effect. You learn a lot by working city services.
