The game had enemies that could drain your stats, or you could be a dumbass and drink the wrong potion/equip the cursed items without casting an Identify spell first. If any of them got to fatal levels, you'd drop dead, and by the end of the second half (it's split into two games, both freeware, run on a virtual machine, any Linux distro with Wine or in Windows 3.1 in DOSBOX), there were tons of enemies, items, and even traps that could plunge your stats through the floor if you were an idiot.

Based on OP, assuming he played, he'd be the idiot saddled with a ton of cursed equipment, guzzle every potion without checking to see if they had a "LOSE STATISTIC" when identified, and then he'd take a step in any direction and the game would game over with the "died of dumbass" tombstone.
