Hah, I wish the conservative swing was people mellowing out, maturing, and getting a little more perspective.

Let's own up to what it actually is: they get some property and start paying taxes, and they go "fah, I want less of that! How unfair this world is to me!"
These people have no principles at any point in their lives.

Modern secular life is vapid and hollow. Focus less on find a quick lay and more on a wife. Look past superficial charm and see into the character of a woman. If all you see is "quick lay", move on.

The Union has two paths down which to tread. One is a long and arduous road that will lead to a more prosperous nation if differences can be set aside and the truth acknowledged. The other is the short, easy path down which lies bloodshed and suffering. Right now we're dawdling at the fork, with the insanity of recent days pulling many of us towards that short path. I'm guilty of it too, what kind of patriot wouldn't call for blood when their nation is being ransacked by barbarians?

In short we need to find common ground among the salvageable enemy and bring them into the fold. We must reforge the spirit of national unity and once again place it above personal traits and tribal affiliations. The unsalvageables - the communists, the antifa terrorists, the media, their handlers, rogue elected officials, etc. - they can and should be expelled from the Union, never to return.

Yes - protests are happening and violence and looting is occurring, but there's a very large lack of reaction going on.
If this were an organic situation, it'd be hyper energy focused from politicians and even the media. But it's not.

There's an outstanding lack of political energy in this situation which has me wondering why...

Oh hey, really old post, but I think it's because they want the demonization of the police force so that they can switch to a more automated police force. Surveillance + drones.

They want a police force that they can control entirely. Both parties want this, and they're going to sell it under the idea that cameras aren't racist.

Historically, the Democrat party has been in favor of more taxes and more government programs. Some people that aren’t socially conservative will sometimes vote for the Republican party because it’s the kindest to the pocket book. This is probably a reason why some people become more Republican as they get older despite having different political beliefs on social issues.

Very few people have those principles. I know I don't. I'm looking out for me and mine and that's it.

Nobody really talks about this at all for some reason but liberals are increasingly turning to witchcraft at an alarming rate. Woke, SJW women mostly. I expect a new age resurgence in the coming years "intersecting" with liberalism.

If you're on a dating website you can see that most of the women into astrology are super woke.
