The whole "silence is evil" things reeks. It's also very obvious that the only alternative to silence they want is to be on their side. If people stop being silent and join the "other" side they'll reeee.

There are many people who don't like either side but if they try to speak up it's basically the same. They think it's a binary "me or them" when everyone kind of sucks.

Nuance is dead. So is critical thinking. Part of the reason I dislike SJWs so much is for their complete rejection of reality and the mental gymnastics they put all of through just to ensure their feelings aren't hurt. Science doesn't real because I don't like it. History is a CIS white male violent concept.

Christ, I remember my Classical Mythology professor really railing on the proto-SWJ view of history. He would have been canceled and fired for saying what he did now. He was not wrong. I remember some batshit feminist anthropology professor saying that if you did not call childbirth labor, it would not be as bad. Men gave it the name labor to punish women. We all thought she was smoking crack then. I shudder to think of the class reaction now.

How am I supposed to find love and friends and a place to belong when everyone is infected with this bullshit? I'm angry, and it's because there's not even an escape. Kiwifarms is pretty much the last real escape online that I know of (other than imageboards). In real life, it's hellishly lonely. I can sit around and listen to people talk about this shit and they just mumble out half-formed opinions on things they're barely educated on, rolling with some consensus because they find wisdom in the dogmas of the herd.

Kiwis, how do you feel? I know most of us are losers in general, but beyond that---I'm a guy who can make friends and get laid, but the problem is finding people I'd want to make friends with or date.

I see the lynch mobs towards the UCLA professor or the riots in general and the massive support they are getting. I'm seeing CNN cheer on Antifa, an organization with LITERAL COMMUNIST AND ANARCHIST FLAGS IN THE SYMBOL.

My worry with all this is where it takes culture and where our human relationships will go. Imagine being who you are today and then being teleported to Medieval times. That makes for fun stories but it gets really lonely when everyone has moronic values and superstitions.

I'm wondering if any of you generally optimistic Kiwis have been "redpilled" yet on where our culture is heading. I've been seeing this coming for years... I'm actually kind of surprised as my pessimism isn't always warranted, but it was for this...

Honestly, you're letting the internet get to you man.

Isn't the first fundamental thing with wicca is that you DON'T curse people, and anything bad you do comes back three-fold? No, never mind don't tell her.
I find that weird, too. I mean it's not like new agers and wiccans are anything new, but I've been seeing an uptick in younger chicks who generically claim to be "witches" in recent years, without any real underlying affiliation. Probably another LARPing power fantasy, I'm guessing.
I dig occult shit for funsie-wunsies and read a lot of books about it as a kid, so sue me.
  • The curse thing is supposed to be that it hits you three times harder if you miss but this got turned into "UwU don't curse people" by people who believe magic is real but still want societal approval and to be seen as a nice person. It totally ignores the fact that if magic were real, using it would be an inherently manipulative fact (something acknowledge by old-school occultists)
  • A lot of wiccans are LARPers and those that aren't are to be avoided
  • Most of the "witches of tiktok" are teenage girls looking to LARP, who appreciate the aesthetic, and/or are seeking some form of power during puberty (standard teenage girl stuff)
  • Beyond the internet there has actually been an increase in weird spirituality, at least among women and at least in the US. I noticed it a few years back and it seems to be accelerating. I'm not sure what's causing it though.

Despite my moniker I am not a druid, I just worship coffee. But in my hobbies and social circles I know several pagans, mainly older ones. I also find mythology interesting so I know a fair amount of what they follow. I like them. It's the younger crowd of teens-20s women that do "wicca" that seem to just follow social media trends and crystal-astrology woo and I doubt many actually treat it as a religion. It's that, a trend.

Oh no, that's what I meant! They don't seem to be actual wiccans/pagans like you'd see in the past, who regarded it as their religion. They just subscribe to a weird mishmash of fluffy, faux-new-age shit with no real direction to it aside from "I'm a witch who can cast spells". It's weird.
