We don't even know if he committed a crime. My guess is he knew the $20 was fake, but as with all things in our justice system I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt. That includes both Floyd and the 4 cops involved. It's possible all parties involved are scumbags.
The left has been crucifying people in a manner not too dissimilar to the way some people have attacked Floyd in response to the left's insane reaction to his death. Don't become like that. We simply aren't sure of everything, and we must give people the benefit of the doubt when there is a lack of clarity precisely to avoid acting like the far left mobs right now.
That's what this country's legal heritage was founded on. Respect that. Floyd was no hero, but was he a monster? A bad guy? A flawed guy that made some stupid mistakes? As of now, I know very little about the man, and I don't think I'll ever get to the truth anymore as the propagandists will make him a hero. I'll have to remain agnostic. I just urge caution.

That's more than sensible, and I agree. I would have rather Floyd lived to have a day in court where his actual degree of guilt could be adjudicated properly myself, but that won't happen sadly. Regardless how good or bad he actually was though, he'd likely be alive long enough to get that chance had he peacably surrendered and made this whole farce that resulted avoidable.
If anything, I just regret we got a week of strife and social anarchy when this all could have been handled had people been as sensible as you are wisely advising me to be.

I mean, the drugs alone ARE a crime, though you are right to not assuming the $20 dollar bill was intentional. A fake $20, passed off for a private debt, would easily be mistaken as real by anyone who doesn't know what to look for.

Don't assume they are a monolith. There are two very distinct 'strains' throughout the protests. Those who want to protest legitimate, if misguided in my opinion, injustices and those who simply want to loot, pillage, and push for free shit.
The former are absolutely drowned out by the latter, but they do exist and sadly will likely be utterly forgotten with time.
