I scoffed at this, but it seems like it might be true.
For anyone who doesn't know, this is Lazy Game Reviews (LGR). He makes videos about old computers, old computer accessories and old computer software. He is one of the bigger names in the hobby and has 1.37 million youtube subscribers.

Sure, the popular sentiment is idiotic. The riots are insane. The protests are full of hypocrisy and nonsense. And a lot of poor people are going to get poorer. None of this is new, it's all happened before, and yes it was "OMG this bad" before too. Stop freaking out.
TL;DR buy a gun, buckle down, and laugh, for fuck's sake. Not because it's funny, but because it's absurd. If you really feel the need to Do Something, donate to David Dorn's memorial fund and shitpost with burner accounts.

The riots are contained. The easy targets are already burned, and Antifa is being confronted by people afraid about optics. They're just shitty protests now, with BLM gospel being preached at ennui-stricken white people.
Things might pop off tomorrow at the organized mob in DC, but that's the point of a nation's capitol: to be the target for invading forces looking to kneecap a nation. And the Commander-in-Chief gassed a street full of morons just to get a photo op, so I'm not too worried about DC falling.
Nobody is cutting down the tall trees. The rooftop Koreans, storefront Sikhs, and based Mexicans repelled the first wave. The honkeys stood around with their AR-15s outside their neighborhoods. And the road rage coalition took out the idiots blocking highways. The "riots allowed here" territory has been marked out, and the revolution is meekly staying within the lines, performing their nightly scream and dance in front of lines of bored cops.

I like the Farms a lot, but what we do here is inherently myopic: we laugh at people doing stupid stuff on the Internet. Those last three words provide the tunnel vision. Remove all the social media hot takes out of this thread, and the situation looks a lot less stupid. Never forget that Twitter is not real life.

In the macro sense, Americans are living in a decaying empire winding down its glory days, and this unrest is a real symptom of that malaise. But every empire falls. The people survive, and often times they barely notice the empire's passing.
The USA has way too much stored up capital, both in materiel wealth and human institutions, to collapse in the near future. Rome took 400 years to fall apart. We're less than 100 years off our peak, depending on how you measure it. We've got a ways to go.
Civilization is always 3 meals away from collapse, or one invasion. The rioters aren't hurting logistics lines and they aren't capable of moving out of downtown areas. Wu Flu spikes pose a greater threat to the food supply, but if that's what happens after these riots, then it'll be the rioters themselves flooding into hospitals with the coof; a self-fixing problem.

Okay this is really messing with me. Like, I've been ostrisized from almost all of my favorite hobbies because of political BS the last few years, and I'm not even really that political of a person irl. I'm more of a meme centrist(tm) and the only time I speak up about politics in my hobbies is when trying to keep it out while others are bringing it in. The vintage computer circles I'm in are about the only places left not pozzed, but seeing this is genuinely fucking me up. It seems this far-left idpol bullshit is inevitable no matter where you go now, and even when you think you've found a safe place, it slowly starts to ooze in, and once it does, that's pretty much it.
