First we start with the title
My Virtual VidCon 2020: A video I'm making for a reason I can't remember, starting strong with a quirky format that covers half the page. Before really starting the summary proper allow me to take anyone that hasn't read the OP into a trip to the past. VidCon has been through the years the catalyst for most of Quinton's exploits.
There's these two compilations that show the highlights. For the most part all Quinton has managed to do at VidCon is lamenting that he never gets invited to parties or approached by other creators as a friend so this video is his attempt at networking with (for the most part) smaller creators to hybridize fanbases. Now, this is how the script starts:
As you may realized Quinton is not taking himself seriously for this endeavor, which I consider a step on the right direction for his channel. As you may also realized already Quinton has embraced his love for Garfield and Bumblebee in a way that makes the fanart made here look prophetic. The first scene is pretty standard since it's him walking in front of a green screen with various gags related to his recent History Channel videos at the tune of a "surreal, home-made cover of the Dora the Explora theme"; of note is that he wrote "vamanos everyone" instead of "vamonos everyone", if this was intentional is beyond me. The scene ends with Q arriving at VidCon where a bunch of bizarro versions of popular youtubers just exist.
The second scene is Quentin
recreating the very first comic strip of Peanuts in company of Phelous and Obscurus Lupa.
If I am pointing out this scene, one of the shortest in the script, is for the sake of accuracy. What this scene really entails is the overall theme of this video which gets more and more surreal as time passes.
Something you may notice is this from this point onward Quinten is directly addressing the reader. That's because according to the first leaked scene Quincy fancies this project as 'a green-screen heavy, ARG-esque, fake VidCon 2020 vlog". More than talking to the reader it seems like he is talking to himself and an additional layer of epicness comes when you consider his status as a loner on the convention and by the way,
this is the song a cover of Arthur's theme song just so you know we are talking of the best video of this year.
The Arthur-Garfield esque vibes intensify as the sketches advance of Quentyn fundamentally talking to the audience like a cartoon character. This part in particular is one of my favorites considering that we are reaching the point when the video makes the theme very obvious yet doesn't foreshadow anymore than the Peanuts skit. Consider that the script doesn't say that anyone goes to DisneyLand with Quinlan and back in January he went to DisneyLand alone for three weeks.
This is when the video really start to kick in. Just as a good joint all it really takes is time and to not rush it. The plot of the video starts to show right in the next exchanges.
This screencaps pretty much capture what the whole video is about: everyone is being hostile to Quimby for some reason and he just goes from group to group trying to be start chatter, also the "tough jar" gag returns a couple of times so wait for the pay off.
There's a scene about Quintus meeting Marcus again in a party that is just a reference to youtuber parties and pretty much just a repetition of what came before. The real kicker is that of all youtubers the only one that isn't hostile to Quillan is JREG of all people, who if you remember wasn't very respected by his fans for not being a explicit lefty.
Fucking predictable.
What follows inmediatly after is the first time this script made me laugh unironically since so far I only got a few chuckles out of this.
For a second there I though this part was going to be reference to the dreaded guppie squad (Just A Robot, LS Mark, Manga Kamen) but in reality its a group of avatar reviewers. the lulz are ahead.
The thing that made me laugh the most was picturing Salty saying that but the punny nature of IHE dialogs sorta of killed the momentum for me. If he is calling out racism or just making fun of it is beyond me. But of course Quantavius didn't left us for long without some magnificent comedy value.
This video already had the classic elements of an anniversary movie but the plot juts took a turn for the ages. The "plot" of the video starts to read onward as a bizarro version of the end of Evangelion with Quintrell as the usual character Doug Walker gave himself, sorrounded by CA alumni and some youtubers with little to no relation to the plot and even less lines. If shit already reads autistic enough brace yourself for what's to come.
This dialog reminded me that Quinton's activity in Twitter, outside of politisperging and Garfield memes is him fanboying after other youtubers, not only breadtubers which has led me to believe the way he landed these many volunteers was via sucking their egos dry.
What follows is more self-indulgent dialogue, so, how does Qoronavirus out do himself?, one of the people against him is a Rankin/Bass character voiced by Worthikids.
(laugh track)
Expect many pauses to leave the viewers laugh out loud at this supreme comedy. Youtube Poopers beware. This is the longest scene there is and reads oddly like NC's The Wall.
Now the next scene is also magnificent but is for a lack of Quintius. A Garfield themed panel with Wyatt Duncan, Teddy Grey and Brendaniel. I'm sure Brendaniel needs no introduction since he has been the VA for Garfield in all of Quadro's videos and Teddy Grey is a musician more known from Shrek Retold. Who I wanna bring a spotlight for is Wyatt, since most people percieve Quanah as the biggest garf sperg. Wyatt Duncan has a channel that is mainly forty minutes long reviews of each and every Garfield tv episode ever done, by all measures he is Quogga but happier. How does Qommader use them for a skit?
I like to imagine that somehow he is going to morph them all into wearing a MS Paint drawn Garf suit that makes them look as a three headed abomination.
Remember the "plot"? It's coming back and is a see to believe kind of deal. Since you are here I will spoil it. Lupa, Huntress X Thompson and Guru Larry are the last youtubers alive in 2025 because of a coucil that erradictaed them. They are communicating with Quintin via a "time mic" during a dream that isn't a dream and despite how important it is to deliver this information they all goof around.
So what's the council? If you still have some braincells to spare...
So if the world ends this year we can all blame it on Jack Saint. Good to know Quashawn is on the right side of history. What follows in the most self indulgent part of the script. Qadim appears on The Void, a dimmension where all dispossed youtubers go to. Here Quon goes all Shinji Ikari and talks to himself about his mistakes from the past.
So meta. If you have come this far into the rabbit hole and not know yet Qong Qing here is known for being kind of a bitch when it comes to who he is willing to consider a "youtube friend" that is a way of calling potential collaborators. This introspective journey is cut short when Erik from Internet Etiquette, an older and less volatile Quinton comes to confort him.
Just when you think QoyBoi grew after two years of fucking up you remember he is endorse by similar people. This reads like him mocking his "cancellation" at the hands of guppies because even after all he has done he still can get all this people to join him in being ostracized. A joke straight from Ethan Klein's book.
For me the best moment in the whole script is this one:
Not only he wrote his biggest enabler to suck his dick but the Garfield video they are talking about is not out yet. It was supposed to be out on April as leaked by
@The Pink Panther and he likely just went back to editing it because it gets mentioned here.
This leds to a compilation of youtubers plugging the con. I'm only mentioning this because out of all the ones that got extra lines, Casually Explained is mentioned but is the only one not assigned any lines and Dad might also have a music cameo. After that is the already leaked videos and a finale that wasn't included the last time I checked the document which justifies the absense of the Garfield video and might tease the also prommised Watchmen review.
Overall I hope you understand why I think this is the funniest shit I have ever read from Q and I sincerely hope it ends up as I imagine it. The Void part almost resembles the ending of To Boldly Flee so I wonder if by the grooming of Linkara Qumkey Rones decided to make a "good version" of it. Now allow me to go into even more detail about another interesting factor about this video: the cameos. Because if anything here makes this project smell like Channel Awesome is the inclusion of so many people with at best two lines of dialogue outside of Q's senpais and little to no connection to Q himself. You might remember that a screencap was taken of people that were interested on the video but weren't written into it. Funny thing about that is most of the people mentioned on the document don't have lines or are even mentioned by name.
