What I'd like to know is how many kids actually have this problem? When I was young myself and no one else I knew gave a fuck about what gender the protagonist was, so long as the book was good. I guess the thing most important to Enter was if a boy crossdresses, though.

Hint: he gives the most cliche advice possible, which basically amounts to "make the main character an audience self-insert", and then follows with a bunch of stereotypes about what kids like.

I don't even think you can place him in with Autogyenophile trenders since his obsession is with seeing other people get forced into feminine roles they dislike and being humiliated, not anything to do with himself turning into a girl.

I think the "being humiliated" is important to him, especially looking at Tales of Childhood Past and Brave New Girl. If things actually made sense, boys wearing dresses would be considered normal because it's all anyone in that society remembers, but that wouldn't fuel Enter's fetishes.

Either that, or he genuinely believes gender roles are so biologically ingrained that not even generations of physical torture can change them.

...wow, now that you mention it, crossdressing happened a surprising amount of times in that anime from what I recall.

Pokémon is the most likely cause, and I'm immediately considering a counterargument: "How come, whenever Team Rocket crossdresses, nobody panics, but whenever Max crossdresses, everyone loses their minds?"

For now, let's disregard the fact that it happens way too often to be funny anymore, because that's a problem all Pokémon running gags have and is not exclusive to GA. When Team Rocket does a crossdressing bit, they always do it with a sense of unwarranted pride and accomplishment, and most of the humor comes from everyone else's reactions toward them, expressing embarrassment or even frustration at their antics. When Max crossdresses, it's the exact opposite. The observers have pride and accomplishment while the subject is embarrassed and frustrated. Worse, in GA's case, the prideful oppressors far outnumber the ashamed victim, so repeated use of the joke eventually comes off as waterboarding Max to enjoy it. An overused running gag is just boring, but an overused running gag with malicious undertones is fucking depressing.

Also, do you think he'll have any excuse for his current lack of videos?

He's been like this for years, and the excuse has always been "quality control." He 'needs' as much time as possible for vidya research and development before he even bothers writing a script. Once he's 110% confident in what he wants to say, he shits out the script and voiceover in two hours, then it's Star Giant's problem.

The largest Catch-22 when it comes to Growing Around is that his main path to funding something in relation to it(certainly not a full episode, not remotely close, but the other stuff like books and graphic novels, maybe even a small short) is the one thing that he would never be able to do: A dedicated Q&A stream.

I’ve seen the ridiculous amount of money he makes when just streaming nothing. He makes hundreds if not even thousands in some cases off of superchats from autists wanting to know his opinion on animated shows he’s never seen, or games he’s never played. If he were to dedicate such a stream just to GA questions, he could certainly cash in... if he was comfortable with answering literally anything at all about the show’s universe, which he very much isn’t.

It’s a shame, too, because both such a stream and any resulting material that might happen from the proceeds would be guaranteed to be terrible.

Just a few pages ago there were even discussions about the 4kids donut scene that Enter wants to reference and thinks its okay when he's doing it.

Ah, I was skipping through the chat replay and apparently found the perfect line where literally none showed up.

A second skim showed a good few, but even then it’s far, far less than what he gets these days, according to both lockdown streams. He made more in about an hour and a half than it appears that that stream made in four.

Owen Dennis (Infinity Train) mentioned this on his tumblr a while back, that nowadays it's easier than ever to make your own show, what with actual software being a one-time investment, as opposed to cels and all else that would eat up your money pretty quickly. The concept in itself could probably work best as a one-off short that you just watch for a quick chuckle, but Enter wants to go full Cinematic Universe shit. You'd think that after the IndieGoGo, he'd reflect and downsize a bit, but I guess not.

For whatever reason, Enter has remained steadfast on only making 22-26 minute episodes, claiming that these are his "strong suit" despite the fact that he has never produced any kind of episode and the one time he tried it was a disaster. He's even argued with his own team over making shorter content. I seriously wonder what his plan is at this point. Isn't season 1 already completely written and he considers it finalized? Who does he think he is working five seasons ahead when he still needs to begin animating episode 1?

I really wanna see a full storyboard of the pilot. Preferably one done by Enter, but if he hasn't made one by this point I doubt he ever will. There's so much the scripts don't cover to the point where it's almost meaningless to read them since you don't get a sense of comedic timing or aids like camera angles, lighting, sound effects, facial expressions, and body language to convey the tone. They're just bland slogs filled with repetitive jokes and awkward dialogue. I don't think Enter realizes just how important audio and visuals are for an audio-visual medium. I'm just imagining him giving voice actors a script and telling them to get back to him with the finished dialogue without giving them any direction.
I honestly don't know how shows are created, so if someone knows more please chime in, but I'd imagine writers and storyboard artists work closely together so the artist can draw what the writer envisioned in their head when they typed out the script.

Like there're no storyboards, no proper model sheets, no animatics, nothing but horribly unfunny scripts. Tons of them, mountains upon mountains of awful, awful scripts. Fellas, I'm beginning to think this cartoon might never get made.
