Made the mistake of logging into Facebook this morning and the first post I saw was from a family member sharing someone's smug post about how the recent spike is actually from all the selfish privileged boomers that dared to go outside on Memorial Day. Science didn't suddenly change but it's just THAT important for all the joggers and soys who don't have privilege to be running around because they're getting murdered in the streets.

Made the same mistake of logging in as well. Right now it might as well redirect to a page saying BLM and support the protesters because that seems to be the only thing people can post about, all independent thinkers in ideological lockstep with one another. I'm learning which friends actually have independent thoughts based on who doesn't post about the riots, BLM, the cops or anything that's going on right now.

As much as the doomers like to act like this is some wishful thinking, I think there is a point to it.

Ever notice that most of the really "woke" Zoomers are the older ones who were born in the late 90's and heavily overlap with the later Millennials born in the early 90's?

The same Late Millennials that @ErrForceOnez mentioned as trying to "out-fag" one another and trip over who gets to be the most soylent and stereotypically feminine?

The younger Zoomers aren't like that. Even as early as 2014 when this was really just starting to ramp up, there were polls suggesting that as a possibility, hence the Generation Zyklon meme.

As it is, SJW's are still throwing an extended temper tantrum from the days when the Religious Right were culturally relevant, which was when most of them were kids or teenagers.

For every action there is often an opposite reaction.

A lot of the doomers and traditionalist faggots try to counter that possibility by saying "The SJW's have more institutional power than the Religious Right did" but if anything, that means the Alpha Generation and the younger Zoomers are going to backlash even harder.

Media is a lot more consolidated than it was in the 80's and 90's.

So many kids can't even try to escape the woke malaise of the past nine years or so because the SJW Left shoehorn their preachy bullshit into damn near everything because they view brands as lifestyles and also view everything as political...

SJW's are literally banning their fun, as seen with all the gaming blackouts for BLM and the virtue signalling being rammed into everything they see.

The Religious Right also tried to ban fun and were nowhere near as successful in getting their agenda pushed despite their fervor and neocon backing, and to this day, so many Millennials and Early Zoomers are still operating on the "Fuck You, Dad!" mindset when it comes to social and political views.

"No Fun Allowed" may seem like a dumb reason to rebel or form a political opinion, but that's because we're adults. When this happens when you're just a kid, it can mess them up and mold their view on the world in subtle and often subconscious ways.

The doomers and the traditionalists often don't seem to get that or they don't want to admit to it.

you have kids literally getting thrown out of college for posting "i dont give a shit about the guy who died stop annoying me" on social media. kids risk getting expelled from school if they ever say something un-woke in public, or even in private. this atmosphere of complete speech control persists throughout ALL public spaces IRL, as well as the vast majority of online spaces. the only online spaces that are not fully on board with this are imageboards (which have been declining in user numbers and relevance for the better part of a decade now and are mostly used by oldfags these days) and tiny fringe sites like kiwifarms.
kids 15 years ago rebelled and lashed out against the religious right because that's what they were taught to do by pop culture and the internet, and because they had the actual freedom to do it. you could be an edgy atheist making spaghetti monster jokes at school and nothing would ever happen to you, some teachers would even applaud you. contrast that with today, where making an attack helicopter gender joke in public puts you at serious risk of getting your college application denied.

there will be no "edgy counterculture" backlash against SJWism, because the near total control these people have over public life makes speaking out against them social suicide, and that in turn makes the formation and spreading of ideas (which is the core of how sub- and counterculture forms) imposisble.

The UK has the lowest policing killings of any major Western nation of its size as a percentage of its total population. The only other nation of comparable size that does so well is Japan.

So in many ways, as much as direct comparisons aren't entirely fair - the UK has got policing use of force to a good standard. So why are people protesting it in the UK? 66 million people, 500k die every year and last year 2 of them were killed by police. You're more likely to win the fucking lottery.

It does make me doubt these people care about reality.

Using a dead man as an excuse, making stupid speeches about the wasted potential of someone in their mid-40's who of course is now being touted as a gentle giant who loved everyone because they always are when they're dead, is pathetic.

I hate the media pulling statistics out of their arse to fit an agenda. Statistics are worthless numbers unless you have supporting data, or a decent grasp of what they actually mean. I hate that self appointed social justice champions use these meaningless numbers to prove they're justified in being scummy pieces of shit. Why can't we admit there is a problem within our black communities that, alongside issues with ole whitey, need to be worked through? When you can no longer identify that maybe, just maybe, the problem was a little more complex than waving a fucking cardboard sign around for woke points. This isn't a revolution, it's a fucking disgrace.

I'm just annoyed, watching how the London protest went down and waiting for some of those smarmy, antagonistic shit stains to post their edited clips of "police brutality" whilst celebrating the fact they were spitting, threatening, shoving, and throwing whatever shit they had brought with them at the police (mounted and otherwise).

Plus, as a black woman, it makes me cringe to see so many black people acting in a way that will just make certain people go "see, that's why they get shot, they act like that". It's infuriating.
