Indeed, AT4W's plots are indeed a way for Lewis to have his power fantasies. Stopping a multi-verse conqueror twice and potentially thrice in the movie! Preventing MissingNo. from absorbing everyone on Earth! Foil a mad scientist's plan to take over the world! I mean, why would Lewis call his Mary Sue in Angel Armor the "Linkara" as well as him appearing as an angelic figure in Light-bringer?

Well, as far as I understand, both Atop the Fourth Wall as well a Lightbringer were initially just conceived to promote his novel. Then against all odds his comic-review stick got successfull and he grew enough up to at least see how shamefull his early works are, but now he's stuck with the name.

So, i just googled Light-Bringer. I found it twice but kept looking because i was under the impression that the absolutely shitty webcomic i found was from someone else, someone even more pathetic.
Nope, turns out what i had found was indeed the "Linkara" one.

Wow. Just.... and this was made by someone who is making a living off criticizing real comic books? Jesus Christ. I mean... just look at it

The writing. One could get away with the art, if at least the writing were good. But look at this tedious, pseudo intellectual bullshit.
And i've been fair. This is a very recent one. The older ones are even worse.

The thing about Linkara's videos about people using ad-block's with me is this: It's all fine and dandy that he made a video about it, it's just the passive aggressive, douchey, condescending way he talked to his viewers about it:

"Well, I mean, you *can* use ad block if you want too.....you're a gigantic asshole who's causing me to not make money if you do, but hey, whatever you wanna do, you do..."

Also offering suggestions as muting the ad or letting it play and not watching it, because the integrity of receiving ad revenue doesn't matter in the first place.

Honestly, if he had just not been such a smug douche about it, and if he had made it more a message of "Hey guys, if you wouldn't mind, don't disable ads on my videos", rather then the stern lecture he made it, I don't think people would have cared as much.

I wonder how bad the situation with Spoony was, reading one the AMA in /tv/ with the employee of the Kickassia film seems to imply that most of CA already disliked Spoony.
 
Since he wrote that book when he was 15 I'm giving him a pass on that. I admit I should have taken the time to read the back more. It is impressive for a teenager to get something published even if it is eye-rolling. However, what he doesn't get a pass on is not evolving his writing beyond his power fantasies.

"Most" is probably a bit of an exaggeration, since he's done guest appearances with Nostalgia Critic, Linkara, the Cinema Snob, Angry Joe, Film Brain, Diamanda Hagan, MikeJ and at least one or two other producers in the last couple of years, and things are apparently fine on a personal level between all of them.

That said, there were a few that definitely didn't like him; Obscurus Lupa by all accounts absolutely fucking loathed him and wanted him thrown off the site much sooner than he actually was, JesuOtaku and Nash had some rather understandable personal issues after he made some less-than-tasteful remarks about the former on Twitter, and Phelous and Nostalgia Chick were apparently of the "I like his work, but is he really worth all the drama?" viewpoint. There's also the dispute between him and LordKat, but I don't think that started until after the latter left TGWTG.

Its self-published, so its not actually that impressive. Basically the same thing as with Eragon and Maradonia, except Eragon, while not that good, was way better written than the other two. That's also why it's the only one that had widespreadth success.

Since with Angel Armor only Book one and two, written when he was 15 and 17, are on the google store, I have no idea how Linkaras writing talent actually evolved. Book 3 he wrote when he was around 20 is only on Lulu, without any previews, and book 4 from when he was 22 seems to be lost, the only hint that it ever existed an old message on the lightbringer blog. Since 3 and 4 are the ones he actually doesn't feel that ashamed about I guess those would be a more acurate yardstick for his talent as an author.
I mean yes, the writing in his comic series and his show is pretty bad, but both of those suffer greatly from his inability to draw / act / direct / do special effects. So maybe when he just writes in novella form, it isn't that bad. Even if it were, that wouldn't be that uncommon. I know a lot of 20 to 22 year olds, who fancy themselves great authors, while producing fiction very similar to Angel Armor.
Without any access to book 3 and 4, I can just guess, that their quality is comparable to Redesigning Eva, except that Linkara actually had enough resolve to sit down and finish his work.
