Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

i don't really like most western games, most of them feeling boring to me and i honestly love weird shit, old crpgs not withstanding of course

I don't understand Final Fantasy

When I was a kid it was some hack and slash adventure with wizards on the NES

Then it turned into giant sword wielding emo kids fighting planets or something.

I don't know how any of that happened.
i mean the first game had mechas and a time loop it was never stable

I didn't think Aliens colonial marines was horrible, I mean it wasn't what I would consider a great game and the AI issues were as everyone said, But I overall didn't think the game was terrible, the Multiplayer was also quite fun

While three Spongebob games usually get ranked in high regard, I would argue that Nickelodeon has many great titles that get overlooked. Maybe this is not an unpopular opinion, but I have yet to see many talk about these games.

NickToons Attack of The Toybots is actually a good game. While the Wii games has some faults, it can actually be a rather enjoyable 3D platformer with quite a bit of challenge. The DS version is a beat-em-up, and is a fantastic game. The two games also have the best rosters of any Nickelodeon titles, allowing for more than 4-5 franchises to be represented. I personally like the DS version more and think it has the better roster, but that might be my bias towards 2000s NickToons.
Both games roster: SpongeBob, Timmy Turner, Jimmy Neutron, Danny Phantom, Tak, Patrick Star, Jenny (XJ9), and G.I.R.
Wii & PS2 Exclusives: Sam, Stimpy, and Rocko
DS exclusives: Invader Zim, Mr. Blik, and El Tigre

SpongeBob Atlantis Squarepantis for DS is a pretty good 3D platformer. It is the better of the versions and should be looked into more.

SpongeBob Squigglepants is a top-tier WarioWare clone. I actually prefer it to Wario. The game has so much style and content, I just wish the U-Draw tablet didn’t hinder it as much as it did.

NBA Jam, NBA Showtime on NBC and NBA Hangtime 64 made playing the new NBA 2K games pointless to me. The old versions of 2K used to be good until micro transactions, celebrity culture and ridiculous amounts of trying to make the game “realistic”.

At least pretend to give sports gamers some fun to play in their games. They actually believe that playing these types of games make you more intelligent than the real athletes that play the sport.

That reminds of NHL '15, which, as in normal hockey, has players switching on and off the bench.
The difference is that when your player is put on the bench in NHL '15, the game switches to a FPV and you have to sit there and watch the game until you're back in.

I have no fucking idea why you think I want that much reality in a sports game and you should fire or punch whoever told you to include that detail.

I thought they did that in career mode way earlier than '15?

Gearbox has become nu Bethesda. Here's a list of shit that happened to me while playing Borderlands 3

Multiple quests becoming inaccessible because quest npcs glitched and started repeating dialogue, reloads did not fix this

Falling through the floor trying to fight a boss four separate times

A boss clipping through the map and dying instantly

Vehicles flying through the air and driving up walls

Enemies hitting me so hard I got lodged inside objects

Enemies getting stuck underground

Menu lag so bad it actually crashed the game (This one gets extra points because I've literally never seen another game do this)

Enemies from the same faction turning hostile on each other

And there's so much more. I don't remember Borderlands 2 being even a fraction this bad with the bugs.

That sort of shit has been happening since Borderlands 1. I have a save game for it where the quest to buy and equip a shield shows as open even after finishing the game and all the DLC, even though I finished the quest and got the rewards back at the start like I was supposed to. I also had a couple of bosses freeze and do nothing while I killed them, had seams in the level geometry swallow me whole and had parts of NPCs fail to appear, leaving people with no torso or no legs.

I did not enjoy Final fantasy 15 at all. The setting and plot were ass, the main cast were Borderlands 3 Calypso twins tier annoying and all the side quests were MMO style "gather 15 orc asses" nonsense.

I don't think DMC was as bad as people said it was

Persona 3 > Persona 5

MOBA games are shit for autistic Koreans

Tactics Ogre is better than Final Fantasy tactics

The characters are awful but Fire Emblem Fates Conquest has the best maps in the series

Advance Wars Days Of Ruin was not a bad game.

pokemon mystery dungeon gates to infinity is a good game with shit qualities. pokemon super mystery dungeon kind of sucks ass and the plot is rushed. the first pokemon mystery dungeon games have the excuse of being the first entries in the series but also suck ass. mystery dungeon sky is only the best game because of what you have to compare against it, not of it's own overwhelming merit.

also, i don't care about the gen 2 remakes beyond adding the ability to get johto starters legitimately in future entries.

not unpopular take but just niche, but fossil fighters and fossil fighters: champions were some of the best non-nintendo flagship series games the ds library had to offer, at least given my experiences.

Hironobu Sakaguchi made all the good ones and now they're made by either a 50 year old man who still buys all his clothes from Hot Topic or a fat faggot who based an entire series around his waifu, Lightning.

Advance Wars Days Of Ruin was not a bad game.

Very much agreed but man it was a weirdly jarring shift in tone for a series that was paradoxically cheery for a world where every nation is perpetually at war and nobody thinks it's weird that actual children can be commanding officers, or how nobody questions the concept of sending infantry out to just clog bottlenecks and act as nothing but meat shields.

"Oh no humanity is on the brink of extinction, but nah it's okay just keep churning out infantry to be sent straight to slaughter, it's all good lmao"

But it really was a good game. Banging soundtrack, too.

Too bad the audio quality's shit because all we have are lo-fi rips straight from the DS.

The Turbo Grafx-16 Mini is probably the best mini-console we've gotten to date as far as a comprehensive library and build quality goes.

But people keep giving it bad reviews because none of them are familiar with the games.

There's about a few dozen reviews that call Ys a rip-off zelda. Or leave out any mention of it and just focus on Bonk or HOW DARE THEY PUT UNTRANSLATED JAPANESE GAMES ON HERE.
