I'd imagine that Lainey/Kai wants to leave Greg but can't because she's in too deep. With all of the grooming evidence stacked up against her, she needs to keep as low of a profile as she can. She and Greg have more than enough evidence to send the other one to jail if they were ever in the position to rat on each other. If Kai actually did leave Onision, past precedent says that he would throw a massive shitfit. He knows this too. That's why he uses Lainey as the stepping stone to get what he wants. Lainey will never leave; she's had all femininity, confidence, and strength stripped of her, and now she just sits around, watching the kids and helping him rope in the females he truly desires. She is his safety net, because the thing that scares him the most of being alone and being cut off from his narc supply, but he can't resist his urges to fuck attractive, barely legal girls.
