The North had indentured servitude and service. Someone paid for your trip and you worked for them for a long time, usually for less than it cost to live.

Neither were much better than slavery. That's what the progressive movement was about, a wealthy middle class didn't start grow in the North until the 1900s.

With regards to slavery - the cost of a slave was about the same as a mid-range car is today. The number of people who could actually afford them was less than 1%.

When people talk about slavery, the only argument that could be made is systemic racism and reparations. It leaves out all the people who came here as immigrants and had to make their way. One might say it's racist, in that make-you-invisible kind of way. But white guys are kulaks now, in the new Communist system they want set up for them.

I gotta admire these police officers for their restraint. I can't say I'd be able to take an entire twelve hour shift of a bunch of soy laden faggots screaming at me.
You know, it comes to mind, if police brutality were such a pervasive problem as the left claims, we'd be seeing people mutilated or killed in every single city.

But because these guys are professionals they somehow hold back on cracking somebody's faggot ass skull with their baton. I know I couldn't do it.

Well, we are seeing people killed or mutilated in every single city, but it isn't the police doing it.

The north also had slaves. However, the cities of the north relied on funding from the Federal government for their welfare programs carried over from England. However, the Fed was running out of money and needed more taxes to keep things going. In order to get more taxes, the North cooked up the idea that cotton farmers and other southern slave owners would have to pay taxes on each slave as though they were a free man. The south rejected this, eventually leading to the 3/5ths compromise. But, the north continued to push, and since the southern citizens weren't going to pay such exorbitant taxes, the north decided to outlaw slavery in the south while allowing the slave owners in the north to retain their slaves and not pay extra taxes on them.

The Democrats then formed a Coalition becoming the Confederate States of America and declared Secession. Following the war, Lincoln, who believed in "absolute" emancipation, seized the moment and freed all the slaves, which he wasn't supposed to do.

It was never "We, the compassionate non-slave owners of the north must free those poor Negro slaves of the south!".

It was literally just a re-run of the War of Rebellion, except this time the separatists lost.

Which lead to the Democrats funding the Reconstruction era KKK, followed by the Democrats enacting Jim Crow laws across the south "to protect white jobs", followed by "The New Deal", until the success of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's, at which time the Democrats pivoted to holding black people down via government aid programs. But Blacks were out reproducing Whites, leading to the introduction of 'Planned Parenthood" in the 1980's, along with Affirmative Action programs to maintain resentment amongst Whites. Then the Democrats signed the legislation that allowed sub-prime mortgages in the 90's along with the growth of BET, and in the late 2000's "no child left behind" was retooled into the affirmative funding that keeps Blacks overcrowded in schools despite a declining birth rate, leading into Black Lives Matter because "White Republicans just aren't doing enough for us" and aided by Obama's eternal race baiting, which brings us to today.

Outlaw slavery in the south and letting the north retain it's slaves? What are you on? And the end part of your argument is such a slippery slope I think you may have used industrial strength lube to grease it.

And this is the real comedy of bad messaging. The point should always have been that 'for those officers who are bad and engage in brutality, there is too little accountability and one too many ways for them to become consequence-free repeat offenders.' Then it would make sense -- most officers at these events are disciplined and fine, because it's only the minority of officers that are rotten and keep getting away with it.

But now, since the message has to be ACAB, well. On its face, one can clearly see which group would sooner engage in wanton brutality and murder if only they weren't afraid of recoil and putting things in their ears that aren't designer airpods.
