Just like with Bush, Powell is someone that burned all respect and goodwill he had with the right when he made a big show of his support for Obama, and then had the gall to say that it wasn't about race when Obama represented everything Powell had previously claimed to be against. He hasn't had any cache with the Republicans since about 2007, these dumb fucks are living in an entirely other decade trying to act like it's a big shock that a guy who went Democrat in all but name back when Dubya was still in office is supporting the Democrats.

Powell burned most of the respect and goodwill for him when he presented misinterpreted photos as justification for the Iraq war.
He burned the rest when he refused to own up to it (or just accept the intel had been misinterpreted) in the aftermath.
He naplamed the ashes when he cried like a little bitch about how he'd been deceived by the evil people in the Bush administration and made to present data he knew in heart was false heading towards the 2008 election.

To reiterate, in the latest polls which cover only the week prior to riots proper (So when support for the protests was at its highest), after an economic disaster caused by COVID, with a full court press in his favor, with Trump himself have survived an impeachment hearing, multiple scandals, the entire Mueller probe... with ALL of that, Biden was up above Trump... by 4 points.

All of that, and it was still just barely out of the margin of error.
